Media & Journalism - August 2007

I've been to a number of blogs that all claim the mainstream media is not biased. They argue this at the top of their lungs but studies show over and over the media is filled with an unbalanced liberal journalists. However the detractors continue to claim they do not present bias. I think what we find here can't be disputed and glaringly shows for all to see, that the liberal media is alive and well. What do you think?

This is totally facist. A one way news station, is a side-effect of a despotate government. One where THEIR opinions are shared, and become the norm, but yours and mine, are ignored.

OF COURSE NOT..I hear the ignorant decry. But then I ask them to read this article from a man who gave 50 years of his life to Nasa, now talks about a meeting with Dr. Wernher von Braun, the Geman scientist & chief architect of the Saturn V launch vehicle, the superbooster that propelled the United States to the Moon.
He would have NO REASON whatsoever to 'make up stories' nor would the honourable man recalling this story 50 years later..

This guy was arrested all the way back in June for hitting on a cop at a Minneapolis airport restroom (you know the story). He pleaded guilty, without even hiring a lawyer, ostensibly to make the whole thing go away quickly and quietly. He almost got away with it, but somebody blew his cover (no pun intended) a few days ago Which media source was it that first picked up the story?

This guy figured out a way to run a car on water. Don't take my word for it watch this video and let a fox news anchor tell you. Why haven't we heard of this. crazy emus...i know that guy and his family actually, so seeing them on the news and then on yahoo for the world to see is pretty funny.

so my question is, has anything that happend in your town made the headlines nationaly or globaly like this, and if so, what was it?

this is just genuine curiosity here, im not saying a rogue emu is a huge deal or anything, this is just the first thing out of my tiny little town that i have ever seen on an international website...so it caught my eye.

I saw the movie Sicko recently and LOVED it. I am a big Micheal Moore fan, I think he's an amazing person giving America what it needs.

However, Sicko rants and raves about Cuba's health care system, and in the movie it does seem excellent. Why then, in the The World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems (that list he zooms down on, the one where the US is just above Slovinea) is Cuba BELOW the USA?
