Sick.

She should have left this to help injured and disabled american soldiers returning from Iraq, or maybe she could have sent just $1mil to an African village and saved 1000's of childrens lives. She could have paid for 1000's of babies to be treated for HIV.

Good riddance to the witch. I hope her dog is happy, but my god, what a waste and how cruel can one person have been.

It will be put in a fund to be overseen by someone that was appointed in her will and the money will be used to give the dog anything it desires from an expensive diamond collar to a $25,000 chew toy that someone is out there inventing right now to try and cash in on all of the ignorance of leaving money to a dog can profit them. I am sure that her lawyers have stipulations in the care taking of the dog and how it is to be bathed, walked, and what gourmet dog food it is to be fed by HUMAN servants making minimum wage while the butt licking canine lives the easy life.

I was just about to post the same exact question. I have heard stories about animals supposedly being left money in wills, and I always just sort of assumed them to be myths, along the lines that it SURELY must be a legal impossibility for a non-human to inherit.

Example: You say to your lawyer "I'd really like my pet turtle, Mr. Bubbles, to inherit my fortune!" and your lawyer says "Well, I'd like to be the next Crown Prince of Monaco, but unfortunately there's no legal way either of us can get our wish...in that my pappy wasn't a prince and your turtle is a damn TURTLE, not a human being."

I HOPE that this is some issue of complicated legal crap, involving people being paid to take care of the dog, etc, and that we do not, in fact, live in a country where animals can legally own property, let alone have a bank account.

As soon as that dog dies, the lawyers will abscond with most of the money, claiming outrageous fees, caretaking charges, and incidental expenses.
By the way, you can bet the life span of Lenoa's dog has just been shortened considerably. -RKO- 08/29/07

It will go to the person designated to care for the dog. I'm sure there are rules set up to assure that the dog is being well cared for.

I don't blame her, the dog was the only one who liked her besides me.
