In newspaper, I saw some aritcles called commentary and some called Editorial, so what is the difference between these words? thanks alot

I agree with the first answer. I'd also like to add that Commentary is meant to be "short and sweet" opinion, whereas Editorials are meant to be lengthy, researched and (ideally) intelligent opinion.

Commentary is by anyone. An editorial is by the newspaper staff.
