We had the unfortunate experience that we were burgled a week before Christmas and everything was stolen, including all presents. I am still so shocked and haven't slept well at all. I do now wonder if I should move out of the area.

here is a comment from a Inidan news paper:

"away, in a country that is home to the world's second largest Islamic population but nevertheless overwhelmingly Hindu, there was widespread revulsion over Saddam's killing. It wasn't because the man on the street in India loved Saddam or his ways. But because people felt it was in poor taste to first have a man convicted with a court whose credibility was in doubt - and then film his last moments. How different were Saddam's executioners from those of Al Qaeda"

Your thoughts? Were the execution taping any differnt than the Al Queda's?

Besides his first wife, Sajida, Saddam had three others - Samira Shahbander (with whom he has a son, Ali), Nidal al Hamdani and Wafa el Mullah al Howeish.

I want photos and can't seem to find them. Any suggestions?

Rumor is that Sajida is hiding out on the coast of Mauritania, any clue where the others are??

16,273 Iraqi civilians died in 2006 alone and just under 60,000 civilians have died in total since the beginning of the American occupation of Iraq :
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070102/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq
http://www.iraqbodycount.net/
On the penultimate day of the year, Saddam Hussein was executed after an illegal trial fixed and supported by a US government that had him hanged and therefore swiftly silenced before any pending trials revealed the extent to which American arms companies had been working with the totalitarian dictator until very recently, thus avoiding any embarassment.
http://www.amnesty.org.uk/news_details.asp?NewsID=17212

Given the total disaster and the fact that the number of US soldiers alone (not to mention Iraqis) who have died in Iraq is now greater than the number of people who died in the WTC on 911, and given that this war was illegal according to international war and there were, in fact, no WMD in Iraq, does Saddam's execution alone justify the war?

its kind of like Rome a powerful city that fell...i see that the US is losing so much money on war and then the natural disasters that happened. we have troops getting killed and all the natural disaters made it worse i think that N.Korea could take advantage of whats going on and ofcourse China will be with N.korea so is the US slowly coming down to its fall even though its still the most powerful country but there are so many chinese i literly think we can run out of bullets by trying to kill all of their troops

He brought education to iraq, he had free schooling, even college was free. He brought health care for all in the country. He gave woman more rights than they had before and also gave them high government ranking jobs, he created a western-style legal system, Iraq was the only country in the persian gurl region not ruled by the traditional islamic laws. His support was from the working class, the peasants and lower middle class. He also modernized iraq. He wanted to unite the different cultures living on his land. He ruled ruthlessly and killed all opposition to his government but he made iraq a better nation. Then American links saddam hussein with terrorism after the attack of 9/11 and accuses him of weapons of mass destruction. Saddam allows the UN to search iraq for weapons of mass destruction because he doesn't possess the power to mess with us. So we go in and search his country but because we can't search certain areas (because it was holy ground) So then we invade iraq (wait)

"New insights into the level of Chinese assistance to Pakistan came about in early 2004 as a result of on-site investigations into Libya's nuclear weapons program, following Mu`ammar al-Qadhdhafi's dramatic reversal on WMD programs in late 2003. As part of disarmament inspections, early Chinese nuclear weapons designs were handed over to IAEA inspectors by Libyan scientists, wrapped in plastic bags bearing an address in Islamabad. The possession by a third party of complete step-by-step instructions for a workable implosion-type bomb raised anew concerns over China's proliferation history with Pakistan, as notes included in the package of documents reportedly suggested that China continued to mentor Pakistani scientists on the finer points of bomb-building over several years following the technology transfers. Both China and Pakistan have refused to admit any knowledge of the transfer"

I was at work the other day (day of the hanging) and i was on my lunch break when i heard a million h orns going off like crazy... i thought to myself WTF is going on, so me and a co-worker went to see what was happening, when we went out to the street we seen hundreds of cars with the Iraq flag hanging out the window and people were honking at each other... Now i understand that saddam hussiens death was well deserved and i dont think a better person could be put to death, he was a massive scum bag etc... but don't you think its kinda sad, kinda gross to celebrate someone being put to death?? i understand he deserved it and i understand being happy about it, but to go out of your way to celebrate that persons death?? I thought to be kinda sad, i would be happy too and i thought he deserved it as well but can't those people be happy in their own home, did they have to celebrate on the street?
