I saw the video of him hanging (execution) on tv and wondered exactly how you spell his name in English letters.

As one has already mentioned above, Sadaam's name is, in English, a transliterated word. That means we've taken a word from a foreign alphabet and sounded it out using our own letters, so there is no one correct spelling. Other examples would be the "haiku" form of poetry, also spelled "hokku," or the famous political activist "Ghandi," also spelled "Gandhi."

what a poor mind !!! well what is more important this moment? his being executed or the spellings? Well when you switch from one script to another the spellings are to be derived, there can be no pett formula. However in Roman script they write "Saddam" and believe it is correct.

Either. It's transliterated from the Arabic alphabet, so there is no 1 "right way". Now I spell his name WORM FOOD.

I always preferred this spelling:

SoDamn Insane

It fit him so perfectly.

I am so sorry to the little ears out there I just cannot resist a "set up" like that!
