There is no justification. America attacked Iraq on a lie to get at it's oil and to overthrow Hussein's regime. However much blood is shed is of no consequence to Bush and company, whether it be Iraqi blood or American blood, it's all the same to them.

I think the Iraqis had no choice but to execute Saddam. As long as he remained alive there would always be a fear among those who are currently in charge that Saddam might come back to pwer and take revenge. The Americans however set up a show trial that was never going to give Saddam a fair trial. For this reason the hanging might always ber seen as victors justice and I think the Americans made a mistake this way. Saddam was an evil tyrant during his life and I can't see many people shedding any tears for the man

Well....lets see.... I am a christian, but Ted Haggard was not killing anyone, and he was just misleading the christian church, so even tho i am glad that he is gone, it was not a deed that helped the whole world Saddam the biotch on the other hand... He killed about 2 MILION people and was a threat to like 50 countries, and the whole world wanted him dead. And now, the greatest country on earth has done it!!!!!! So, i think the choice is clear Saddam the biotch- Public as$hole nemero uno Ted Harrgard- Public as$hole nemero.... like 50 or something And as for forest lover (cough hippie cough cough) We would wish this upon a man cause it is FUNNY AS HELL!!!

Saddam is past "rehabilitation" after order the execution of thousands of people you don't just suddenly respect life. Iraq is different than other countries I couldn't explain why they chose to hang as opposed to life in prison.

Crimes against humanity. Crimes against the Iraqi people. He was tried in an Iraqi court, found guilty of violating Iraqi laws and was sentenced to Iraqi punishment, death, and was executed at the Iraqi gallows, probably gallows built during his rule. Those Iraqi laws and punishment were in place long before Saddam and long before George Bush. It is sad that he will be unable to stand trial for his crimes against humanity but that is how their system of crime and punishment has worked for many many years.

It falls under the eye for an eye thought.
He had nearly 150 people killed because somebody tried to kill him in 1984. That is what he was in jail for and ultimately why he was executed.
Saddam Hussein ordered the killing of thousands for various reasons and few, if any of them, were justifiable.
He had so many crimes against humanity that it boggles my mind as to why it took as long as it did to bring him to justice.

saddam hussien used to torture people. he toyed with them before he had them killed. there was this thing years ago when he held captive a bunch of americans and he was petting this little boy, like a dog, and the poor kid looked so terrified. who ******* does that!? not to mention he treated his people like animals/slaves (whichever works for you) and lets not forget that they wanted him killed. People in iraq were volunteering to kill him! he commited terrible crimes against humanity and we facilitated that. We had to clean up our mistakes. Same with bin Laden-clinton basically put him in power when he supplied the taliban with arms, that's why we are after him. When gen. schwatzkopf let the iraqis' use armed helicopter, he basically allowed hussien to terrorize and enslave his people and neighbouring nations. keep it in perspective and the americans have created this-they need to clean it up! Hussien's execution is a start.

He was executed because he ordered the murder of 148 men and boys after there was a failed assasination attempt on his life in the mid 1980's. He was found guilty of "crimes against humanity."
It should speak volumes that his own country was the one who chose to execute him.

His execution is justified, as he ordered the slaughter of many lives in the mid 80's after a failed assassination plot against him.
