When the 'west' is mentioned its not the people its political powers of the west. I am a muslim from the west and i find some of the responses people have made are just a damn good excuse to be racist and ignorant towards others' faiths.
America likes to get involved in other countries affairs because they want to play God. Iraq, for example was invaded because of oil, not weapons of mass destruction. America created Saddam and even supported his invasions of neighbouring countries and now they want to take the credit for taking him down. Its at the cost of innocent civillians and our soldiers.
The real reason for all this unrest between everyone is Isreal. The Arab world helped the jews by welcoming them to Palestine and what they got in return was greed for land. America helped them and is still supporting them. When the time comes everything will be revealed and it will go down in history that America is the real enemy. Just to be clear when i say America i mean the government/administration NOT the people. (Most are cool although a little misguided on Islam.)
Yes i agree there is a minority of people who use my religion as an excuse to kill people and the majority of muslims have publicly condemed them but it seems, as muslims we have all been accused. Hitler was a Christian and he killed millions of Jews but does that mean all Christians are the same?? i doubt that was ever considered so lets not do the same with muslims. we're a peaceful religion with very similar beliefs as Christians. We shoudln't fight against one another but all fight terrorism and Terrorism does not mean muslims.

First of all,you should realize that all the conflicts between Muslims and Christians are not on the basis of religion though it seems as if they are.The thing is that big and developed countries, almost all of which are Christian and western,have been exploiting the oil which is abundant in the regions where are mostly populated by Muslims.All these conflicts and terrorism stem from the reason that the West wants to exploit more.While doing this,the West uses religion wisely.

I don't think that Muslims consider Christians as "infidels".
Christians believe in the same god as Muslims.
I'm an infidel as I am an agnostic, a non-believer.
I sometimes get together with other agnostics and atheists to see if we can iron-out the things that we don't agree on (But, hey! we never start wars like all you believer types.)
Maybe some Muslims call westerners infidels because they believe that powerful westerners have "Mock Faith".

1st off, who said you're infidels? That's you calling yourself that. Some sins include spelling muslims as muslums, a celebration of homosexuality(NOT all of course) and the sore ones call you infidels cos you're richer.

Any Muslim not believing in Jesus is infidel. You want to sort out things. Study Bible and follow the teaching of Jesus about love and peace and tell others to follow. Role of missionaries is guide line.
Criminal have no religion. Most of the issues relating to Muslims are political in nature. Pope has tried to support Muslim cause based on justice. Please forget imaginary tussle. Pray for peace. I love you. Ilove all my Christian brothers.
