I was at work the other day (day of the hanging) and i was on my lunch break when i heard a million h orns going off like crazy... i thought to myself WTF is going on, so me and a co-worker went to see what was happening, when we went out to the street we seen hundreds of cars with the Iraq flag hanging out the window and people were honking at each other... Now i understand that saddam hussiens death was well deserved and i dont think a better person could be put to death, he was a massive scum bag etc... but don't you think its kinda sad, kinda gross to celebrate someone being put to death?? i understand he deserved it and i understand being happy about it, but to go out of your way to celebrate that persons death?? I thought to be kinda sad, i would be happy too and i thought he deserved it as well but can't those people be happy in their own home, did they have to celebrate on the street?

OMG, people don't lash out at me for nothing... i'm asking you a question... all i asked was don't you think it's kinda gross celebrating someones death, i understand he was a tyrant and killed and rapped innocent people for his own reasons, etc.. personally i wouldn't have hanged him he got out to easily, i would have had him tortured every single day of his life startinf off at waking him at 5:00 am for his daily beating ... etc... i', not saying i wouldn't celebrate if i were in their situation... i'm just saying don't you think it to be morally wrong???

I honestly don't understand why people want to celebrate and all that. I also think it's funny because a bunch of people who are against the death penelty are celebrating as well.
I agree with you, yes he totally deserves what he got, but i don't really understand why people are celebrating and watching it and all that.

I'm with Jayma. HONK HONK BEEP BEEP.
Remember 9/11? Remember how Palestinians and others in the Middle East went into the streets and celebrated the carnage that day? Huge victory celebrations, guns shot into the air, whooping it up. I'll never forget those images, just like I'll never forget the images of the WTC crashing to the ground. Did you ask these types of questions then?

Let's look at it this way: You are from Michigan, thousands of miles living the good life away from Saddam's terror, so I guess it's easy for you to think it's morally wrong for people victims of Saddam's tyranical ruling to celebrate his demise. If you experienced just half of what these Iraqis did under Saddam's oppresive rule, believe me, you would be out celebrating the tyrant's death too.

Ok. I understand that celebrating the death of a person is not morally right, but when you think about it, I mean really think about it, its perfectly okay.
The man was a tyrannical sociopath that controlled a nation for years, tortured, killed and raped women, men, children for his own belief that if they say a foul word against him, he would kill them for it.
It the earliest of ages, when government was still young, and blossoming, people of the world believed that criminals would deserve an eye for an eye. Cut a person's finger off, they cut off your finger.Rape a woman or child, you get raped.Kill someone, then you get killed. So think about it, really, he should have been dominated, controlled like a dog on a leash, dragged around the desert, raped, tortured, killed many, many times over.
But all they did was hang him once.
I think he got off easy.

Yeah i was really surprised seeing everyone dancing around on CNN and like so many people were jumping and screaming with joy. Hes hurt and killed so many Iraqans and they are glad that hes gone to not hurt them or their families. The more you think about what hes done the more you think that he deserved it. The more you understand why they are dancing.

Seriously?
If those people you saw had ever been under the bootheel of a maniac like Saddam, hell yes they should celebrate.
You say you understand he was scum, yet you expect people who KNEW he was far worse than scum to sit silently and just accept his death?
Saddam Hussein was evil, and MANY people had to sit silently and accept his RULE over them, or be killed in a number of sick, inventive ways.
Now that he's dead, they found their voices and CELEBRATED.
There is NOTHING wrong with that.

Let me see, he used chemical weapons on his own people and had mass rape rooms. Question: What world are you living in? He should have been beat to death with a shoe.

Kind of proves Jeckle's theory by the response here. We've just
crept out of the swamp an hour ago. If you doubt me attend the next nanging and look at the enjoyment on the sadistic faces of the on lookers. Responses and mentality have proven Jeckle's point.
