He brought education to iraq, he had free schooling, even college was free. He brought health care for all in the country. He gave woman more rights than they had before and also gave them high government ranking jobs, he created a western-style legal system, Iraq was the only country in the persian gurl region not ruled by the traditional islamic laws. His support was from the working class, the peasants and lower middle class. He also modernized iraq. He wanted to unite the different cultures living on his land. He ruled ruthlessly and killed all opposition to his government but he made iraq a better nation. Then American links saddam hussein with terrorism after the attack of 9/11 and accuses him of weapons of mass destruction. Saddam allows the UN to search iraq for weapons of mass destruction because he doesn't possess the power to mess with us. So we go in and search his country but because we can't search certain areas (because it was holy ground) So then we invade iraq (wait)

I don't believe in celebrating anyone's death. Saddam did some good and bad, but like many historical figures, his legacy is a mixed bag. Even Hitler did some great things ( like pushing the Volkswagen and Autobahn). His people are probably better off without him, but we really broke that country.

I don't think it's good that he was hung. Especially when you think about how long people like John Wayne Gacy lived on death row. I love America and I'm proud to be a American how ever this whole war is very confusing and sad how is we have money to fight wars and we have no money to feed the poor or house the homeless. Saddam Hussein from what I have read about him did implement positive changes. But there culture and the American cultures are very different and expecting Iraq to change overnight or change at all who really has that right?

well i think it all depends actually, you see, if he did not die and still am the PM of Iraq the country will not be in this situation ,everything will not be as bad as what it is now because only Saddam himself can handle his own people. But the good part is that certain people will not be afraid of going through their everyday life without worrying of being killed or tortured. But not to say I'm evil or anything but some times these people deserve it, because they should know better that going against Saddam means suiside.

It is good that he died, but I think that he should have been allowed to choose his own method of death. I still do not understand why the U.S., British, and Soviet governments did not allow Goerring to die, in a firing line like a soldier, as he wished, during the time of the "Nuremburg Trials", after WWII. Political figures charged with political crimes should be handled, a little more delicately in some cases, no matter how much we hate that person, or their ideology. Yes, I am glam Saddam hung, but it could have been treated differently.

It is never good when someone dies I would like to kill someone too but its wrong and 2 wrongs or 22wrongs dont make a right anyone who celebrates the death of another needs to take a good look at whats inside them, when a person doew wrong it will come back on them at the least expected time far worse than any wrong they have done. If we want world peace then join together and celebrate world peace if we didnt have armies we wouldnt have wars wouldnt a game of chess be better either way the hurt just keeps going on lets stand up take a stand and say no to this kind of wrong doing. George bush and others like him are not God and any true beleiver celebrates life not death. Anger is not good Hate is not good so base all decisions on whats good for humanity not just satisfying a court ruling. Its good for the courts but not for me to kill yet it would be justified. NO its wrong for all ------bad-----not good. Its not what we can take out of this world its what we can put into it. Does anyone know what love is Look at Corinthians 1-13 and apply it to your lives. Christians and non Christians, buddists, muslems and others its a better way!!!!

Death is not a good thing but some people really deserve it. I would prefer not to be killed and being a prisonner it would be greater punishment to suffer for all his life rather than escape so easilly. He was a devil and he harvest what he sow. The best part is that one of the executioners yelled "long live Muqtada al-Sadr," lol
