a blind man, an iraqi who lost his eyes, followed instructions from his passenger...left..right...straight on..etc, crashed the car travelling at 30 mph and was shown leniency by the judge. What I dont understand is the banning of just 3 years, does that mean after that he can start driving again??! Does the DVLA have a blind clause or what lol!

...just read that 10 - normally docile - stingrays have been killed on Australian Eastern coasts (in revenge attacks) since Steve Irwin was killed by one last week. Some retaliation...and I suspect this is hurting Mrs. Irwin all the more, but I doubt the 'hard' folk are thinking about that right now.

So many people think we should pull out or should have never gone in the first place...I'd like to know how people who have been directly affected by terrorists feel. I personally think it would be a mistake to pull out now ...how does everyone else feel?

I don't want to sound mean or unAmerican but I don't see the point of making people relive the 9/11 tragedy every year. Is it okay for me to just want it to be over with?

I am American and a republican. I live in Watertown, MA. But i have to speak my mind: Soldiers from poor area's in the US have to go fight in the desert so the companies can consider the next big oil contract is a done deal. The Bin Laden's (and other Saudi families) and the Bush's share business interests. Cheney's company is reeling in business deal after business deal in Iraq. How can people be so gullible to believe all that bring-freedom-to-the-world crap??? It's all about the money! There's nothing wrong with wanting to stimulate economy, but it is when hundreds and thousands of soldiers have to die for it. And why do most of these soldiers have to be from poor backgrounds? I don't see any congress members send there kids of to Iraq? So let me tell ya what the nazi's used to say: ERWACHE!!!

OK, we all know that Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter passed away due to a stingray attack. A lot of people loved him, there were a lot of people that didn't like him and didn't agree with the way he handled animals. there are a lot of people focusing more on the things they hated about him, esspecially PETA. Steve Irwin did a lot for animals, and yes I can also see other peoples point of view when it comes to him sometimes handling animals in a not-so-pleasant way, but come on, the man has died at age 44, he has a wife and two kids, his friend watched him die, and weather or not you do, a lot of people loved him. PETA should be ashamed for what they said about Steve Irwin so shortly after his passing, and while I'm shure his family and fans are still greiving. PETA has been quoted saying "HE GOT WHAT WAS COMING TO HIM" and "WE WONT MISS HIM". Someone NEEDS to speek out against PETA. Time after time they belittle human life, I am for animal rights but our fellow man come first.

We have been fighting the Iraq war for almost 4 years now. At what
point does this strife begin to affect global commerce? Is there a
tipping point? When does middle east turmoil begin to affect the
global financial and banking system, if only from the sheer cost
of levying govt IOU's(bonds and taxes) to continue the fighting?
After the cold war ended in 89' and the initial gulf war victory
in 91', why didn't we create a new Marshall Plan to bring the
disjointed system into alignment? Are we paying for this unilateralism now? We could have created a new hybrid
United Nations/World Bank that took into account the flux
after the cold war, and established the groundwork for peace
and stability that could have lasted a century. Instead, we get
9/11, and follow it with an even more isolationist attitude.
Is it too late? I am of the firm belief that we need to establish a
UN type structure with balls/teeth, for any chance at future global peace and prosperity....

When America attacks someone there always seems to be the intention of saving the target from an evil regime and bringing democracy to the people. The way they operate is determined by this. Israel on the other hand just pounds anyone and anything into dust that is opposing it. Putting aside for the moment the rights or wrongs of recent/current conflicts, which approach gets the best results. My initial view is the Israeli option works the best.

14 y old boy stabbed to death on his milk round, 15 y old boy attacked riding his bike, attacker got the wrong kid! 9 y old boy tortured and burnt in a park, he's too scared to go outside. 3 teenage girls stabbed getting off bus. 20 y old father shot in front of wife and child. and most of these incidents are done by other teenagers. I just don't understand what has happened to the younger generation. i mean i'm only 23, but i get nervous around groups of teenagers. TEENAGERS, they should be at home doing their homework. not having a rant, just want others opinions on this.

Tony Blair has committed £40m to help Lebanon recover from the recent conflict with Israel.

Visiting Beirut, the prime minister also said he would dedicate himself to helping to resolve the region's problems.

Speaking at a press conference alongside his Lebanese counterpart, Blair defended his delay in calling for an immediate ceasefire during the summer's conflict.

More than a thousand Lebanese were killed as the Israelis sought to destroy Hizbollah.

And Britain's roll in the conflict provoked anger from protestors in Beirut and at the press conference, which was interrupted by a woman who shouted that the visit was "an insult to the families of thousands of Lebanese who have died".

But Blair sought to sound optimistic about the prospects for a peaceful settlement in the Middle East.

He repeated his belief that resolving the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians was crucial to whole region's stability.

was wondering what do you make of this. should uk get involved?

just because his kids don't eat chocolate or crisps does not make hima super-parent
get off the parents backs and start trying to make healthy food less expensive.
