OK, we all know that Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter passed away due to a stingray attack. A lot of people loved him, there were a lot of people that didn't like him and didn't agree with the way he handled animals. there are a lot of people focusing more on the things they hated about him, esspecially PETA. Steve Irwin did a lot for animals, and yes I can also see other peoples point of view when it comes to him sometimes handling animals in a not-so-pleasant way, but come on, the man has died at age 44, he has a wife and two kids, his friend watched him die, and weather or not you do, a lot of people loved him. PETA should be ashamed for what they said about Steve Irwin so shortly after his passing, and while I'm shure his family and fans are still greiving. PETA has been quoted saying "HE GOT WHAT WAS COMING TO HIM" and "WE WONT MISS HIM". Someone NEEDS to speek out against PETA. Time after time they belittle human life, I am for animal rights but our fellow man come first.

Police have viewed the tape that caught Irwins death by the stingray and it shows that he was not provoking the stingray at all. However, he did make a mistake of swimming above it while someone else swam below it, which most likely made the stingray feel trapped. He never touched the stingray. Steve Irwin was also quoted saying on one episode of the Crocodile Hunter that any injury inflicted upon him from a dangerous animal is always his fault, never the animals, "if I get hurt, it means I made a mistake". Unlike PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of animals) he can show some humility.

He brought a lot of attention to conservation and the preservation of wildlife. I would think that PETA would appreciate that. Yes, he made some mistakes, yes he was flamboyant, yes he was outgoing. That is how he got the attention, that is why he was able to make his statements. He wasn't a saint, by any means. But, he did good work, and he should be remembered for that.

Absolutely Agree... with this kind of attitude i dont know how PETA is working animals... we know that his ways of handling things were unique but we all cannot deny the fact that he did a lot for animals... He risked his own life to save lots of people's life & as well crocodile's lives.. so many animals have got a residence in the famous Australia zoo... He collected so much of money from his hsows to help animals it is amazing.. I really mourn his death & feel sympathy towards his family that he was so dedicated towards his goal of life.....
May God bless his family & grant eternal peace to his soul for all good deeds he did to save so many humans from animals & vice versa...

Screw PETA Steve did more for animals than they have. PETA is just all about publicity, Steve brought awareness to the people. May he rest in peace.

If PETA said that, I do not doubt it but have not seen the quote either, I agree they need to back off. But PETA is always way to outspoken. You listen to people cry for so long then you just shut the noise off.

unfortunately there are crazy people in every organization... that was totally crazy that peta would say that about someone who's life was dedicated to conservation. like you, i am all for animal rights, but dang.... they take it a little far. i think they would have everyone be a vegitarian and never harm a living creature ever!!! that is a little extreme

PETA has been so discreditted time-after-time that I wonder why anyone listens to them anymore. Their animal shelters kill pets. Their VP takes insulin for her diabetes, which violates some of their main tenets: animal experimentation is wrong. They fund eco-terrorist groups such as the ELF and ALF. Why should we listen to them any more than we listen to Al-Qaidda?

Wow, that's messed up! That was really uncalled for. PETA should appreciate human life and not be saying things like that.
