a blind man, an iraqi who lost his eyes, followed instructions from his passenger...left..right...straight on..etc, crashed the car travelling at 30 mph and was shown leniency by the judge. What I dont understand is the banning of just 3 years, does that mean after that he can start driving again??! Does the DVLA have a blind clause or what lol!

No the sentence was for his careless driving and no licence and uninsured
the judge gave him the maximum penalty, for this infringement of the road traffic act.

. in order to drive again after the three years is up
he would have, to get a driving licence that would include a SIGHT test! as standard .
as the man is totally blind, he will not get a driving licence .!!!

If he were to attempt to drive, ( even with a co-driver)
he would receive a prison sentence and again have no chance to re offend again .

as he has NO licence

>^,,^<

( the blind man, could also speak no English, and was an immigrant of foreign extraction ) as was his co-"driver".

Well it would seem so! I hope not because he's a hazard to all and sundry including himself as for DVLA ... By the time they actually put two and tow together ... The man will probably swapping his car licence for an arctic!!! They're that slow ...

its probably incase he magically gets his sight back, its like when under 17's commit an offence they get a few years ban, but that does not start untill they are able to drive, then they are banned for the amopunt of time givin in the ban.but as for this guy, i think he should have spent a while in jail and the guy giving him directions, he should get the ban!

We tend to think of dog training as a series of steps for teaching particular behaviors. To teach a dog to stay in a particular position, you reward her as she remains in place for gradually longer times, at gradually greater distances, with gradually increasing degrees of distraction. the law must work within its own guidelines if it is written that the maximum penalty is 3 years then the court cannot impose longer . This limits the damage personal prejudice can cause .

Yeah I read that too, he also only had two fingers on his right hand!

It's insane, I'd at least send him to therapy.

This is why drive-up ATMs have Braille on them.
