Amen Honey.
My sister has 2 kids in primary school and they eat quite healthily.
With the odd packet of crisps, bar of chocolate and maybe the odd tray of chips, along with the odd fizzy drink every now and again.
Benefit Jamie Oliver kept his opinions to himself, he wouldn't like if we told his kids what to do.

You do get easily annoyed, don't you? He's a chef - he cooks. He is not a linguistic miracle...
But take a look around and see what a lot of parents actually feeds their kids with. Look at all those obese people and their obese kids that's been raised on peanut butter and shakes...
Those parents can easily be describes as tossers - I have no problem with that!
Nobody gets hurt by a piece of chocolate once in a while - but you shouldn't do it every day, unless you really don't like your kids very much or aren't very bright...

I can't stand the self-important little tosser either, but I have to grudgingly admit he has a point - the quality of food provided by Schools for children has become appalling, and what they take in now can effect their development, habits and health in future life.
The occasional bag of crisps or bar of choc is no big deal, but the point is that with far too many kids, junk food is not the occasional treat but the staple, which is bad badski!

I think you're missing his point. He always says there's nothing wrong with eating some crap, what he is trying to achieve is for kids to at least get a decent meal at school.
I'm sure he wasn't directing anything at your sister personally.
However, I'm constantly appalled at how busy McDonald's etc are on Sunday lunchtimes, is that what parents call a Sunday lunch.
I have a 5 year old daughter, who likes chocolate, crisps etc.. but also likes to have proper food because that's how I have brought her up, not all parents do that.

I think he was really meaning the parents that give their kids nothing but fizzy drinks and takeaways such as McDonald's and KFC´s.
I'm sure Jamie gives his kids a treat every now and then or special occasions but that's different to everyday.
Plus do you think its helping kid by giving them sweets everyday, then what about the weekends do they get extra treats? Do they get treats when they go to granny and grandads?
And fruit isn't expensive, neither is a salad or most healthy foods!
Most parents give their kids crap to shut them up and stop them whinging! Hence the new generation of mindless layabouts who think everything should be handed to them on a silver plate just as it was when they were kids!
Be a good parent and get it sorted! Discipline is a good word not a bad word!
Nowadays parents want to be their kids friends instead of being their parents. Its sad!

im **** at cooking, must admit i do too much processed crap but i do try to give my kids plenty of fruit, they wont touch veg with a barge poll, they look at it and me like its a piece of ****. if i were jamie frigin oliver on the other hand and could get my hands on all those ingrediants he uses that ive never heard of then it would be a diff matter. the trouble is that its all too easy now, back in the day you didnt have all this processed stuff like chicken nuggets and fish fingers etc you had to eat fresh food or starve, thats why there is such a problem with children being obese now, which mine arent by the way im not that bad.

he didnt mean all parents he meant the ones that feed their kids a load of crap.. the ones that do probably give them a load of shite at home too, the obesity rate in the uk is growing at an alarming rate and there is no need to feed your children such shite, healthy well balanced meals are not difficult to make or expensive either, maybe **** was a strong word but he is trying very hard for our kids and probably feels he is getting no where when he looks in some lunch boxs

He didn't call all parents tossers. He said:
Jamie Oliver says parents who give children junk food for packed lunches are "tossers".
Jamie launches the attack on parents in his new show, Jamie's Return To School Dinners.
He says he is "f****** bored with being polite".
He claims 70 per per cent of lunches taken to schools were "disgraceful".
According to The Sun he said: "Now is the time to say 'if you're giving your young children fizzy drinks, you're an a*******, you're a tosser. If you aren't cooking them a hot meal, sort it out'."

WELL DONE JAMIE GET RID OF THE CRAP IN SCHOOL MEALS.
If you are sensible about pack lunches all well and good for your children. Nobody says they shouldn't have treats but thats what crisps sweets and chocolate ought to be treats.

I am afraid that the food that we eat and the way that we eat it is very much a class driven thing.
One only has too look when one is out and about to see that. Believe me healthy natural food makes a marked difference to a child`s behaviour.
Who the `****` is, is purely an individual point of view, but, when you experience the joys of hyperactivity due to feeding your child copious amounts of the chemical industries finest maybe you will change your mind.
