This psychopath who opened fire at Dawson College in Montreal (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060913/ap_on_re_ca/canada_college_shooting) may spark renewed debate for tighter gun laws in Canada.
My question to you is this: Are more, tighter gun laws the answer to curbing gun violence?
It seems only law-abiding citizens would abide by these laws, and that such people - by definition - do not commit crimes (when they do, they cease to be "law abiding" citizens.)
Doesn't seem like someone of the willingness to commit a gun crime would care about laws saying he shouldn't have a gun.

As a Q.A fan i am wondering if it starting to get a lot like the chat rooms, you know what I mean, with a lot of idiots starting to come on for the sole purpose of ofending people and making personal attacks on different races etc, I think yahoo should police it a lot more and give all new members a probationary period to see how they do, I personally look upon most of the users as a good source of help and advice, and yahoo could have a winner here, however we can do without offensive remarks about 9/11 and steve irwin to name just two, most of us here in the u.k feel very much for america and indeed steve irwin, and anyone or country treated badly, come on all of us lets clean up our act

For the United Sharia Law Muslim Party. Anyway i awake from this nightmare and think how the failure of multicultralisim will be put to bed, nothing against ethnics but they would be better of amongst their own people in karachi, mumbai, or where ever. Should the goverment be radical with this and be honest regarding the failure of multiculturalisim and offer them an exit plan by buying them out.

I thought you all claimed the draconian anti-gun laws prevented that stuff. Oh well, when guns are outlwed, we now see only outlaws have guns.

My condolences to all who paid the price of liberalism and thier stupid views.

Since all the violence committed in Iraq is largely sectarian, Sunni vs. Shiite, and based upon the proposition that the hostilities occur because of purported corruption in the police and military (Shiite), wouldn't it make better sense to replace the police and military with non-Muslims?

How can we resolve the terror issue once and for all?

Should those in power , Blair etc, be brought to justice for their policies that have put us all in danger?

This is more of a prayer for all those who are affected by the shootings at Dawson today. I am so sorry to hear this happen, it breaks my heart to know that such young and innocent people were hurt in any way. I myself have friends and people I know that I managed to reach who are ok, but this isnt true for everyone.

I hope Police will catch the SOBs scum of the earth that did this. I know two are dead, but as we stand 2 are still not caught.

Please feel free to comment and post your thoughts on this. I live in Montreal and attend University here, and the last time sth even remotely close like this happened was about 20 yrs ago. How could this happen, and why?

I am absolutely fuming, (unlike me) I saw on the news here in the u.k at six oclock there were no troops from other nato countries being sent to help british soldiers in Afghanistan keep peace.
This is disgusting after all the men we lost in the second world war helping their countries and freeing them from the nazis.
Is it time to disband nato, pull out of the eu and look after our own interests and friends from abroad.
The french have always been cowards, and never been able to stand up for themselves, along with a few others, and what about all these countries who want to join the eu.
It seems that all these foreign governments want to do is,send all their undesirable citizens to the uk, so instead of that lets close our borders send these people back who should not be here and stuff the lot of them.

"By SAMEER N. YACOUB, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 6 minutes ago
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Police said Wednesday they found the bodies of 65 men who had been tortured, shot and dumped, most around Baghdad, while car bombs and mortar attacks killed at least 39 people and wounded dozens more.
The U.S. military said it could not confirm all the execution-style killings and said the numbers they had for the bodies so far was lower than that reported by police.
"It is looking like about a 50 percent discrepancy on execution-style killings so far," said Maj. Josslyn Aberle, chief of the media relations division for the Multi-National Corps-Iraq.
The reason for the difference was not immediately clear. The confusion over numbers underscores the difficulty of obtaining accurate death tolls in Iraq, which lacks the reporting and tracking systems of most modern nations. Also, counts by the U.S. military often lag behind those of the police."

Please, serious responses only----

Yahoo will delete your whole email account and everything that is stored on it and it can never be retrieved if they don't like your answer on this site? It happened to me and I had time sensitive business information and priceless pictures of my children and family stored in my email and they won't even tell me why or what answer was so bad. The answer I gave couldn't have been that bad because I was getting ready to be a level 4 and my guess is that I answered what I'd do to Binladen if caught which would never happen anyway. Guess what? They don't care!!! They will just send you a copy of the terms and agreement when you try to contact them and run you around in circles through their automated system. So be careful what you say on here if you have anything in your email account that is worth keeping. Did you know that?

Why is it that in a war, the terrorist can play by whatever rules they want but we have to play by the rules of engagment? Why dont the politicians let us fight the damn war to win, and then they could all come home! What do you think? I think, then certain politicians wouldnt have anything to cry about then!

If they are so damn smart and supposedly have all the answers to make this a better place, then why is it that when asked how they plan on doing this they have no other answer than to say we are going to take a look at it. I thought you said you had the answer, but it sounds and looks like smoke and mirrors! What does America think ?
