Montreal Dawson College shooting: Why?

Question

This is more of a prayer for all those who are affected by the shootings at Dawson today. I am so sorry to hear this happen, it breaks my heart to know that such young and innocent people were hurt in any way. I myself have friends and people I know that I managed to reach who are ok, but this isnt true for everyone.

I hope Police will catch the SOBs scum of the earth that did this. I know two are dead, but as we stand 2 are still not caught.

Please feel free to comment and post your thoughts on this. I live in Montreal and attend University here, and the last time sth even remotely close like this happened was about 20 yrs ago. How could this happen, and why?

It is very important to seek psychological support if anyone you know inculding yourself are feeling very anxious about this.

I also go to Uni close by and this could seriously have happened at any of our schools.

I really hope there are no more deaths, as one is way too many and way to tragic.

i live in montreal and i have so many friends that go to dawson. i was horrified to find out what happened this afternoon. everybody was in shock ,still are. i dont know why somebody would actually do that. its so sick ! i hope they rot in in hell for what theyve done. there are lots of people in this world that live in their own box. theyre on drugs, nobody knows who they are an dnobody seems to give a **** about them. so they probably think that they can get some fame or do something out of revenge towards innocent people to let out their anger brfore they die or something. thats my guess..but one thing i dont understand is you are not safe ANYWERE these days! not even at your own school! i mean god you just go there to learn and then you get shot!. i am telling you i am still shocked about everything. my hands are still abit shaky. i hope i can hear from the rest of my friends soon.thanks for your concern.... god bless

The suspect was shot down in the stomach by policemen and died at the scene. There is only one suspect. It's so horrible. You'd think the Americans had a more violent society... Hell, we've had some three Columbines in the past seventeen years. Remember Polytechnique in 1989, and Marc Lépine? Remember Concordia in 1992, and Valery Fabrikant? Now, this unknown guy, at Dawson, 2006.

How could this happen, and why? I'd like to have answers to this as well. Unfortunately, I don't, and I don't know if there are. And even if there are, I am not sure they will be pleasant to hear.

The world is an angry place now, and getting worse. No place is really safe anymore. The "world mind" is being fed violence, and no leaders anywhere have the courage to begin the measures to reverse or even slow it. This state of affairs has been growing for some time, and nothing is being done to counter it. The measures required would be more extreme than you're willing to consider at the present.

I go to university 10 minutes away by walk. The situation is very bad. I also have many friends that go there, and I myself go there at least twice a week to meet with them.

I am a mother and this makes me sick.I live in Toronto and I can't believe that this happen in Canada.
I guess all I can hope for that this is the last time and nobody got killed from the students.

i know someone who goes to dawson and he told me that his friends called him on his cell while he was in class to tell him that someone was opening fire so he yelled to his teacher to lock the door and so they did, they were trapped inside and could hear people screaming and gunshots everywhere and they saw a girl laying on her face shot in the torso and full of blood. its crazy
