Current Events - August 2006

I say, first off,summer vacation ends when summer itself ends, September 21st. Summer Reading and homework should be terminated, except for college students. I also feel that sick and vacation days should be given to students in order for them to use. This could teach them how to use their vacation time when they get a job. These sick and vacation days would be given to students from 7th to 12 grade. I also think that hiring someone to be a Human Resoures manager to deal with bullying and other problems would be great. This would lighten the principals workload an let her concentrate on other affairs. I know some of you will think I'm insane, but most inventors and thinkers ideas were scoffed at before going into effect. I would like to apply this plan to the public and parachoicl school systems in the United States. I might have a case with the Pope, who has recently stated that too much work is bad for you. Amercia is a nation of stresse out foks. Let's not spread it to our kids.

I am watching Katrina:The Long Road Back on NBC right now.
I CANNOT believe people that suffered. I knew that it was bad but I had NO IDEA that it was SO BAD.
I am just in tears watching this. All these innocent people who died and suffered.
Their is NO EXCUSE for these people having to go through that.

I know he's being sent back to LA to face child porn charges, but can't we send send this predator back to Thailand so he can face some "real" punishment is prison there? He wanted to avoid prison there so badly that he confessed to a crime that he didn't commit. Hope they at least made him pay for his own flight.

is this bad to think....? personally i am really sick of the whinning i hear about hurricane katrina, how did the gov't fail them?? ok yes the mayor should have told them to evacuate, but anybody with a half a brain with a tv knew there was a hurricane comming, so why not just leave.... also the 1900 hurricane of galveston killed 12,000 people, made katrina look like a childs toy, and the people of glaveston burried their dead and rebuilt the entire city on their own, and didnt wait and complain for the gov't to help, is anyone else sick of this...??

John Mark Karr freed in JonBenet case

BOULDER, Colo. - Prosecutors abruptly dropped their case Monday against John Mark Karr in the slaying of JonBenet Ramsey, saying DNA tests failed to put him at the scene despite his repeated insistence he killed the 6-year-old beauty queen. The move came just a week and a half after the 41-year-old schoolteacher was arrested in Thailand and put on a plane to the U.S. in what was regarded as a remarkable break in the decade-old murder mystery that had cast suspicion on JonBenet's parents



if he didnt do it why would he confess to it? this is mind blowing! did anyone else think he did it? wow he knew things about the case the public didnt know was never released! im shocked!....

Lots of people on here got completely indignant when Karr "confessed". Screaming about "I always knew" and people apologizing to the Ramsey's. But it has now been proven that the DNA does NOT match. So now what do those people have to say?
Personally i now believe the Ramseys didn't have anything to do with it. Obviously this Karr guy is a joke. A sick joke who still needs to be locked up ... but still just a joke.
But i want to know what the people who were putting up such hateful messages... just how do you feel now?

It's been a year. Tomorrow morning at 9:00AM my husband were floating on an ice chest during Hurricane Katrina! I'm so thankful we're still alive. Waveland, MS is gone (all you hear about is New Orleans) and it's so sad. We're still dealing with this tragedy. I honestly can say we'll never forget this even as long as we live. God bless everyone!

by the way, preosecutors dropped the case today because DNA and the handwriting on the randsom note dont match....
So the confession is false, but hes striking to him confession...whats wrong with that sick bastard?
