I think that the claims made by the so-called "archaeologist" are to be viewed with great scepticism and that the journalists who broke the news about the "pyramids" in Bosnia should have done a great deal more research before they released their stories.

The head "researcher" has no qualifications as an archaeologist - his degrees are in sociology and political science. His research into Mayan pyramids over the past 15 years were directed at developing an elaborate and bizarre theory suggesting that the Mayans, among others, were descended from the Atlanteans who were themselves descended from ancient aliens originiating in the Pleiades.

His suggested date for the pyramid is totally ridiculous and not backed by any substantiated evidence. Bosnia in 12,000 BC was, according to respected established scholars and a wealth of scientific evidence, in the last phases of an ice age and inhabited by people in the Upper Paleolithic phase of cultural development characterized by short-term dwellings, no cities, stone tools, and, in short, people not capable of undertaking massive monumental construction projects. Nor is it clear that the blocks he has uncovered are part of a pyramid - they may equally well be Roman or Illyrian. Cut and dressed stones do not a pyramid make.

This is, to me, just another example of pseudoscience being accepted by reporters too lazy or too ill informed to bother to do any further digging into the background of the self-proclaimed expert who contacted them and then disseminating that information to a public who feels that they should be able to trust established news sources.
