I just got done watching that. I f'ing cried when they showed that man holding the baby up saying that she was starving cuz no one would help them. It makes me so sick. It's very sad what is happening there. As much crap as is talked on Dr Phil, at least he makes an effort to help people. Whatever the purpose is doesn't matter.

new orleans/katrina is a media darling. There are towns in florida that were hit by andrew(or whatever the last was a couple years ago) and they still have yet to be put together.
Do not believe anything the media says about this. Heard the addage use a grain of salt? well with this media you need an 80 pd bag of salt...

This country is not set up to help people after a disaster... sad but true... too much red tape and people saying "not my problem".
You don't need Dr. Phil or anyone else to help... just donate once a year to the red cross or go to New Orleans and spend some money at privately owned businesses there... it will help their economy. Don't forget to tip your waiter.

Media attention means publicity and embarassment. This is often (sadly) the best way to get action out of beauracrats who like to pass the buck and get issues tangled so deeply in red tape that it would never otherwise get resolved.

FEMA is a mess. The whole city of New Orleans is not following any standards. No one should be allowed to rebuild in any place that is likely to flood again.

WELL,,,,, I guess you didn't see the DR PHIL show today AUG. 28th.........he gave a concert to help the first responders to the victims in Louisana ......and it was ..and he is .....a wonder person....so please......DON'T talk about DR. PHIL.......
