Clearly I must have put it in the wrong category. So this question may very well get deleted, but before that, check out the real question at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aicd9R5.oxEcxKHpO8_0FM_sy6IX?qid=20060630060724AAZsrSS

Bono wants the world to get involved with ending extreme poverty in the world citing the 9000 dead in Africa every day. Well what exactly is the world to do with the additional 3 million people a year who survive if we end poverty in Africa? Or the millions of others that would survive from other countries?

Poverty, disease, famine, flood, etc are all required in order to keep our population manageable. If all the people Bono wants to save were to stay alive then the entire world would be living in poverty in 5 years due to the population explosion. What Bono sells sounds good on a tv commercial, but if his goal were ever realized our planet would be doomed.

So, why end poverty? Why not learn to live in a world that, for good or bad, requires tradgedy in order to survive?

During the red scare, Americans were over-concerned, even obsessed, with the concept of communism from inside their own country.

Does anyone see terrorism as the new fad-type "scare" because it effected the most powerful country in the world, but in time will obviously still exist, similar to our previous fears of communism, but fade away slightly?

Everytime we try to get something done China and Russia block us. While we keep throwing money into the UN they never accomplish much. Using the money they get could do much more good if directed to other projects.

Marriage has been defined for centuries as b/t a man and a women. Should the US just ban gay marriages all toghether. I for one would support such a constitution. Let the US set the example and show the world that gay marriages are unmoral.

It seems that maybe we should just leave things alone. How often have you ever seen enabling work? It does not. Think of all the extra money we would have if our country didn't hand out all this foriegn aid that ends up rotting or getting into the hands of corrupt governments. Giving people free stuff just makes them rely on you. If there is no food, no water and no jobs.....they will move on. Let nature take it's course.

Kim Jong Il, maniacal president of North Korea and devoted movie buff, has finally agreed to give up his lust for long-range nuclear missiles in exchange for one night of forbidden passion with Hollywood bombshell Angelina Jolie.

The swanky Axis of Evil party boy issued a statement saying he likes "bad girls" and inviting Jolie to come and personally inspect his "weapon of mass destruction."

A source close to Jolie's luscious, pouty lips said the actress/international activist is "intrigued" by the opportunity to defuse the volatile North Korean whackjob. Hollywood insiders say she'd love to put a Nobel Peace Prize next to the Oscar she won for "Girl Interrupted" in 1999.

To sweeten the deal for Jolie, United Nations goodwill ambassador and mother of an adopted Cambodian boy, Jong Il said she can take her pick of cuddly impoverished North Korean infants.

"Hey, I'm no Brad Pitt. But I know how to party," said Jong Il. "And if Mr. Pitt wants a piece of me, my bodyguards will go 'Fight Club' upside his pretty face."

Meanwhile, the international paparazzi is on a state of high alert, with tabloids reportedly willing to pay up to $10.3 million for a photograph of the dictator "canoodling" with the movie queen.

A spokesman said that if the Jolie negotiations fall through Jong Il might be willing to bang Paris Hilton in exchange for relinquishing a rusty Soviet machine gun

sell all the mansions that rich people have. make them live in apartments so they can give money back to the world and sell all their bling bling. i think some rappers have like 1 million dollars on one little finger that could be used to build homes for a few people. Bill Gates has like 55 billion? wtf do you do with all that money? the world should have a set limit on home much money you should be able to have based on the size of your family. all exceeded family salary allowances should be put into a fund that goes towards research for medical advances to stop the illnesses that kill millions of people, space exploration to find possible other unknown sources of energy in the universe. developing better trade routes for food, supplies, and other items some countries cannot produce. start building cities in the sky to help the overpopulated countries to have the opportunity co-exist with developed nations to better their education and quality of life. With the education comes more advanced technology that will revolutionize the world and make surving the next couple of centuries possible. with the technology comes ways to cut down on pollution, crime, deaths, healthcare, the list goes on. the countries that are developed and have resources needed to diminish the military and have the millions have men and women fighting each other from countries around the world turned into one force that will work together to find ways to aid those who are in need. the force could be used to for a number of things including building new cities, farms, non-hazordous energy plants that transform air and water into massive energy banks that can be stored underground below cities or in a elevated storage facility that is hovering over a city to be used as a power source for large scale cities. i could go on, but the world isn't ready for this kind of large scale change, it is to busy fighting wars over land, power, natural resources, and who has a bigger budget. i can only hope that one day we can live together in peace and work together to improve our lives and our neighbooring peoples lives.

African leaders fly their private jets from their multi million dollar palaces in Africa to New York and stay in presidential suites in the Waldorf Astoria before asking the US for money. If they sold their planes and their palaces and their gold and diamonds and used the proceeds to help their own nations, they'd be fine. We are always asked to help nations whose governments refuse to help their citizens. Look into why Roberto Clemente was on the plane he was on. The Nicaraguan Govt wouldn't let the supplies through to the citizens, they were hijacking them. Roberto was a symbol though, so he went thinking that his presence would enable the supplies to get to the needy. He was a hero.
Bono sits in his gigantic mansion preaching to cameras about how you and I should send half of our possessions to Africa. If he wants to be a hero, he should sell his stuff and go to Africa and help build hospitals and schools.
No hero has time for interviews or talks to cameras.
