Bono is a leader. Leaders don't go and feed the people with their own hands because it would be counter productive. He serves a better purpose at home inspiring and organizing.
As far as Africa goes, do you have a clue? Africa is not a country, it is a number of countries that make up a continent. The situation in each of these countries if very different and each of these countries has varied needs. Not all African people are starving. There is not war in all of Africa. There is not draught in all of Africa.
Right now the US is funding one side of a war in Somalia, providing weapons, money and logistical support and inciting violence in a country where people are starving. If you can do no good, at least do no evil.

Good points. You are right. There has to be a point in time (now for instance) when the United States has to stop trying to foot the bill and carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. It's true that there is an inherent responsibility of the greater powers in this world to aid those in the most need when possible, but when your problems at home are continually compounding and those you help seem to always take your aid and turn around and spit in your face, it might be time to refocus your efforts. If you couldn't afford to feed or clothe your own children, would you set up a soup kitchen for orphans in your backyard? We need to take care of our own immediate problems, then we can worry about solving every one elses.

Bono has donated incredible amounts of money and spent a lot of his time in Africa walking around and hanging out with the locals, children and adults. He cannot help Africa by himself even if he sold all that he had to make himself poor, which would be defeating his goal of ENDING poverty. Not all African leaders are rich and travel in fancy jets but the few who do are exploited by the media or by people like you so that we become selfish and uncaring and not share our good fortunes with those less fortunate than ourselves.

I agree with White rule with Black face is too true.
Have you ever been to the 3 plantations in Louissianna that were owned and operated by Black Men who enslaved their own people ?
It's not in the history books but the plantations arethere as historical fact. Another fact is people are greedy no matter what race they may be. Slavery in Africa is in some parts the only existing economy, and it's Black on Black. Nothing to do with post colonialism. It was like that before Europeans arrived.Oh my god. What a sick world.

Maybe Bono should give me 3 or 4 million and I'll go share it with the people of Africa rather than send it to someone who will undoubtedly skim 90% off the top.

When you truly look deep into this issue, you will learn that most African leaders are controlled by the European nations. It's called "White Rule with Black Face". It's not as simple as it seems.
