Just watch Star Trek,
They all have free energy devices,
Because of that, they also have NO greed, hunger, desperation, hopelessness, etc...

Star Trek is what it will be like

Energy, like mass, can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only be converted. Free Energy devices (or those that seem to output more energy than is input) do not adhere to natural physical laws.

Advances in technology have made some very efficient sources of power (electrical and mechanical). It is conceivable that we or our descendents will see useful power generation with a trivial expense.

Most likely this would be a distributed power generation system with households or neighborhoods generating power for local use with any over-production being sold onto a national or regional power grid.

If electrical and mechanical power were free to everyone, everywhere, there would be a great raising in the standards of living for everyone.

Well, that seems like a long way off, and almost an impossibility.

In today's world, anything that people want or need has a price that they are willing to pay. That is the principle behind supply and demand. In order for all energy to be free, it has to be as readily available to every person as air, or regulated by a governing force. If someone can harness it and keep the supply to themselves, or if there is a cost to producing and distributing it, then it won't be free in a capitalistic world.

There is no such thing as a "free energy" device. If something is moving, it required energy to get it to start moving. It requires energy to keep it moving. When the energy imparted into the moving object dissipates (is consumed by friction), the object will stop moving.

The "perpetual motion machine" is a fiction. If you see one for sale in the back pages of "Popular Science" magazine, save your money. It's a scam.

I really don't think that will ever happen. Someone will always make a profit, no matter what.
Who will design those free energy devices?
who will manufacture them
who will
market
promote
advertise
sell
repair
improve
update them.

What do you consider to be free energy?
Solar energy? yeah, the sun's energy is free, the technology to harvest it is not, and so forth.

Let's face it, that is not going to happen.
