However, please mention your institution type (IT, Manufacturing, Service Industry, Health Care etc) and location (in USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa or Germany). I need a World View. Here the Questions are-

1.What is “Your Attitude” Towards Your Company’s Management?
2.How Positive your “Management”, in their Attitude (Decision making, Leadership, Seriousness, Promptness and Competitive attitude)? Explain?

I need a “World View” (including USA), please mention ‘Your Country’ and ‘Type of Institute’.

Thanks,

I used to work for a long distance telephone company in the USA, two of them actually. My attitude towards both of them would be the equivalent of rolling my eyes. These two were the most unorganized and unprofessional organizations imaginable.

Leadership:
Promotions were based on nepotism first, then ethnic quotas second.

Decisions:
Decision making was greatly uniformed because low level employees were bringing up flaws in decisions and not rewarded for saving the company money. I realized they made an error in programming phone lines in the state of Florida. This error cost them approximately 3 million dollars per day. I didn't even get an 'attagirl'. Another girl realized they had quoted a wrong rate on their promotional fliers. Same thing, no applause or recognition.

Seriousness:
Their ethics were highly questionable. For example, there are laws about how to bill a call according to where it originates. My company would bounce the call over the border of Canada, claim it originated there, and would rebill it at a lower rate to us.

Competitiveness:
Both companies would try to chase down the latest trends in long distance calling. Constantly chasing down the 5cents per min, 4 cent per minute, 3.9 cents per minute competitors. We never were a leader, always a copier.

Additionally, each year they kept reducing benefits to employees. Morale was a low priority as they felt that there were always others waiting to replace you. They spent way too much money on training new people versus retaining existing employees.

Sorry so verbose.

My company merged with another recently and things have been a little Topsy turfy lately. All in all I think the new management will be a good thing seeing as how they will change the "attitudes" of people to positive. I think th new management decision making, leadership, seriousness, promptness and competitiveness is of the utmost kept. I am in the service industry located in the great USA!!

When I worked, It was a family run company. I slaved my *** off there for 18 years, and was ever so happy to leave. I am sure this is not the information you are looking for. However, I relish in saying how bad it was there. (Although the job keep a roof over my head etc..) The favoritism was incredible. It was the truth when one would say, "It's not who you know, it's who ya blow".You would get the screws at ever turn. It sucked!!! I am now happily employed at collecting my husbands paychecks. And since I am the management, tee hee, I'd say it's pretty darn great. Ima Midwest lady.

I spent 30 years in management of a manufacturing company and progressed from entry level to upper management before I retired. During that time the indifference of the company to social issues and employee matters changed to match the trend of larger companies. As the political powers removed the burdens of employee benefits we shifted our attentions to those items that hit our bottom line. It has been a disappointment to me that profit has become the only aim of business. The middle class is going to pick up all the entitlement cost because the wealthy know how to shield their wealth. As for day to day operations the short range goals preempted long range projects and the end result was large bonuses for management and token rewards for employees. The ability to manipulate the union which came into our operation surprised me. I felt sorry for the members who paid dues for worthless representation.

Most company's management only care about themselves and making the $ not about the little guy who does all the work. Of course I'd probably be the same way if I were in their shoes. lol

My attitude is one of awe.....I work for one of the largest real estate companies in the nation. This company has the most amazing philosophy in regards to supporting their agents and staff and making sure that everyone is trained very thoroughly. Our company provides more training than ANY other real estate company in the nation and gives incentives for agents to mentor other agents. Our home office is in Austin, Texas.

i work in a home plan design firm. my company's management is unethical, 2 sided, and negative towards employees. therefore my attitude is not positive about the people that manage it.that is really sad but when you see all employees being treated like numbers instead of people it is kind of difficult to see past their ignorance

I am in retail in the US and the management of my company I find are rather incompetant and uneducated. I often feel I can make improvements to the business, but my opinions aren't listened to.
