I admire them. Between 33% and 50% of the 1.5 million combat troops were KIA, of 10 million uniform. I don't know statistics of wounded. My generation of their children now ages from 20 to 90yo, had to deal with their mental and physical injuries. Some, went in as criminals and came out same. These, mostly men, continued violence, some on us. My friends and I, were beaten by these men, were threatened and probably some killed. We were sexually molested. Our mothers were beaten. Every war has these effects. Can we do better with the soldiers from wars after Vietnam??? Current problems with VA system would indicate we are failing again.

Iran is going to put our folks on "Trial". The outcome is most likely death sentances for them. Surely now we should organise some kind of rescue for them!

There was a little girl who lost her hearings, both eyes, four limbs, both parents and all siblings but fortunately or unfortunately she survived the American bomb that hit the house that was having a wedding party. I am not pro Sadam, Iraq or Islam and I might even have lamented that she was the unfortunate collateral damage which was not avoidable. But somehow it pained me deeply in my heart and I wonder if this should may never happen.

Personally I fear for my life that more countries are nuclear capable and that this world would be better off with less nuclear. But why should USA and others are allowed to own nuclear weapons even by hundreds-fold while Iran is not ? Of course its easy to pass judgement of self righteousness while one is standing on one side of the fence. Inherently no country can claim to monopolise on the question of right and wrong and that God has not bestowed Bush or USA the mandate to be the judge of last resort.

You see if I say I dislike anybody that wants to destroy my country, my answer gets removed by the YAHOO NAZI's. So let's all just join hands and sing Kumbaya until we're nuked into third world status. I love the terrorists, don't you? Yahoo does.

Ive never heard of her. Someone made mention in another question and I looked her up, found out her history, but dont get why she says the things she does? She is conservative, like me, but seems kinda nasty. I read something about her bashing John Edwards, then him trying to raise money to fight against bigotted politics. Isnt she kinda like there Cindy Sheehan, and Michel Moron? They are offensive also, maybe they are taking steps against them too?

I dont get why she is so nasty, or how she got popular? Do republicans like her? Any info is appriciated, please dont copy and paste wikipedia, I read it already

The way I understand it:
1. The destroyer was far away, it could not draw close to the freighter without running aground, yet the freighter did not.
2. The Iranians were less than 3 minutes away via high speed boat, legally in their own territory. Everyone knew this.
3. The heliocopter flew away leaving them unprotected.

There are rumors (probably somewhat unfounded) that there is a looming airstrike on Iran -- targeted at the nuclear reactors, naval warships, Republican Guard headquarters, etc.

While I highly doubt that anything is immediate, the US certainly has a plan drawn up somewhere that is likely similar in scope to the one I defined.

The question once again: the strike would certainly hurt Iran's military, and would set the nuclear program back ~7 years. What would be the impact on the current Iraq situation (given that Iran is mostly Shi'ite), the effect on radical Islam, and any boost in standing with our Sunni allies (Saudi Arabia and Egypt)?
