I think they made her dress that way so they could put her on Iranian TV.
And no, I don't think she wanted to go on TV. She did it under duress.
The only good thing is, now that the hostages have been paraded on TV, the regime is almost guaranteed to return them intact.
If I were to visit Iran (unlikely, under the present regime), I would dress according to the local customs; but she's not visiting. She should be allowed her own clothes.

This is the normal attire for women in Iran. Women are to be covered on their head. When you are in a foreign country it is probably considered polite to dress as they do.

This is much different than in the West....and this was probably done to stir up the British. This is all propaganda really.

With out a doubt they made her wear that turbin cover. They are trying to portray her as a defector of England and that she loves Islam and Iran. It's all show. FYI: she wasn't asked to wear it, she was told to wear it. Probably no gun involved though.

As a woman in a muslim country she is obliged to cover her head, and I'm sure it was insisted upon. BTW she is a sailor (WRNS) not a soldier.
