Well as a matter of fact I do, in 1988 there was a book called 88 reasons why the rapture is in 1988. Well of course that didn't happen but a friend of mines father was a pastor who very much thought so, course he went on the record that it was gonna happen then and now he sells furniture, but it got me curious and for the last 19yrs now I have studied the bible extensively as well as every major christian theory I could find, and I have to admit it has been the main reason for my faith! 90% of all biblical prophecy has literally taken place, the final 10% concerns the end times, some say revelation is a book of symbolism not meant to be taken literally but thats only satan's attempt to keep us asleep, and most of us are. Everything concerning prophecy in the bible is literal. And there are old testament and new testament scriptures that all tell the same "final" story, so its not only the book of revelation, the bible is sophisticated in that other books by other authors from different times all of course inspired by god tell the same story. Now how do I seriously know its near? Read it and you'll see for yourself. Its like reading todays or yesterdays newspaper, too many things are coming together for the first time in history, a cashless society, a revived roman empire (european union), there are dozens of signs and events that signal the begin of the end and once they have started which they did with the rebirth of the nation of Israel in 1948, theres nothing anyone can do to stop it, only realize god is real even in 2007 in atheist, materialistic ameriKa, and that everything from the state of christianity, and how most christians feel about god's "power" to the near rise of a one world government that is being pushed from every direction and why our politicians are working hard to bring "down" america to the standards of the rest of the world, eliminate cash for total control of everyones money and how its spent, imagine what that does for the illegal drug trade? We slowly have been giving up our freedoms and liberties in the name of "security", in the end we end up with a rebuilt temple in jerusalem (which the jews will and are planning on building, according to judiasm it must, that is the only "true" place to worship and sacrafice to god and where he dwells and it can only be built on the holy of holies). And an anti-christ, who looks good at first like Hitler did to the Germans, but in the end is 10 times worse than Hitler, in control of the ultimate police state which can electronically monitor everything, and force you to take a mark or...... access denied! You can't work or buy food! Direct Deposit, Debit Cards, etc they are all leading us to armaggeddon. Think about how the worlds economy's depend on oil? Isn't it running out fast! What catastrophic economic depression that will cause! Anyone with the slightest amount of insight into how our world will be in the near future, knows the end times are coming fast, most just don't know what they say or they'd see exactly how the pieces fit!

People have been talking about doomsday since beginning of TIME. Well, somebody is going to hit the jackpot eventually.
No, British hostage thing isn't that bad. Lately Iranians backed off a little. I think they demand British guarantee no future entrance into Iranian water, but didn't seek official apology from British.
Iranians actually backed away little from claims that British entered Iranian waters.
British marines were in 'disputed' water which both Iraq and Iran have not agreed where exactly is the border line.
Iranians will use this for their 'propaganda' TV production showing how well they treat these British marines, show their 'confessions' and eventually release them.
Lot of Arabs are uneasy about potential military conflict in Iran and not willing to help the US, but Iranians don't have many friends these days either.
No WWIII, so Glen can get back to his doomsday warning without actually dying in one.

I have read the Bible over many times and studied it on a regular basis. If you look at all of the signs of the times, yes, I do think that we are getting very near. When Israel became a Nation in 1948, Isaiah predicted it about five thousand years ago. We have the book of Revelation that talks about the Army of the east boasting of an army of two hundred million men. China is now boasting of an army that size. It talks about this army of the east crossing the Euphrates River on dry land. The Turkish people built a dam that has the capability of blocking off all water flow down stream on the Euphrates River. It talks about Christians being beheaded and if you read the news all over Africa this has been common place, where they not only cut off the heads of Christians, they cut off their arms, feet and cut out the babies out of the women. The violence over there is unbelievable!!The Muslims are terrorizing the entire world. There is also the prophecy about the mark that people will take that will permit them to buy and sell and with out the mark of the beast they will not be able to buy and sell. This means they will starve , and not be able to get medical attention if they need it, probably not be able to hold down a job, because all of the money will go through the chip, in the hand or the forehead. They have already started this pratice in Flordia with the people that are on welfare, they get a chip in their hand and they can get medical attention. If you read the Bible the sign of the times is all over the place, but we need to remember it could still take another hundred years or it could happend tomorrow. Jesus said that no one knows the time or the day, we are just to be ready at all times. When the children of God are being terrorized by the people that do not believe in Jesus Christ, and that would be the Muslims they are considered the Anti-Christ. Any one that is not for the Son of God is Against Him. That is what Christ said. So that means if they are against him they are Anti-Christ. We as Christians should always be ready. The last of the prophecies could be fulfilled tomorrow and it could all be over. Or we could live yet to be a ripe old age. But it is not something I am willing to gamble on. I prefer to be ready, by this I mean, forgiven and Saved.

...Even MORE importantly, WHY do so many people CARE??! I mean -look; let's say next Tuesday- the World comes to an end. #1. There's nothing we can do about it. #2. There's no advance warning- so we're not even going to have any TIME to do anything about it. #3. Even if you DID happen to know the End was Tuesday- would you REALLY want do waste the last 3 days of your existance- freaking out about it??! And, #4. How do you know you're even going to live THAT long?- You could get hit by a car tomorrow, & miss all the excitement!!! :) Anyway... I'm NOT convinced the conflict between the Brittish & Iran is the "beginning of the end..." And even if it WERE, I've got better things to DO (like LIVING my life) than worry about it. All worry gets you- is Old. :)

No. And I read and reread the Bible many times. There are some key events that simply have not occurred. I suppose doomsday is possible but it would be a random event (outside of Biblical prophesies). Hostages have been taken since day one, so no. It's just more of the same.

doomsday - is a man creation - the universe has a direction is spite of what we inflict upon it. Time is a concept that is affected by speed. Man is too weak and does not have the intelligence to warp it. The hostage situation is but 15 people - Hitler killed millions - genocide is going on in Africa and you are overly concern with them. Do you fear global warming by man -- as we await the next ice age - Everyday in the news we read of a rape a killing some new name disease - some food contamination - don't listen to the news and you will have a happy day.

The End of Time? there are references to an end of time and world history does reveal a closing period for a particular age of a ruling people and way of thinking. I can say this for sure. I can see more clearly now and think without much head pain. maybe there really does exist a well to draw meaning from and quench the thirsty soul. I know the end of much ignorance has come, at least to my mind, and I don't believe I'm the only one saying this.

I don't believe the world will ever end, however based on the species fluctuations I do believe humans will dis-appear eventually, in fact in a century global warming will probably bring about the next ice age, based one the science that is, but I don't want to get into THAT argument, it's just a waste of time when I know based on the scientific evidence that it will happen.

People have been proclaing the end of times for 2000 years. As more time goes buy, you can interpret any event to the bible if you manipulate it hard enough. No, the end of times is not near, everyone live's by their own means and existence.
