(3) Anne Frank, diary entry (19th November, 1942)
Dussel has told us a lot about the outside world, which we have missed for so long now. He had very sad news. Countless friends and acquaintances have gone to a terrible fate. Evening after evening the green and grey lorries trundle past. The Germans ring at every door to enquire if there are any Jews living in the house. If there are, then the whole family has to go at once. If they don't find any, they go on to the next house. No one has a chance of evading them unless one goes into hiding. Often they go round with lists, and only ring when they can get a good haul.
In the evenings, when it's dark, I often see rows of good, innocent people accompanied by crying children, walking on and on, bullied and knocked about until they almost drop. No one is spared - old people, babies, expectant mothers, the sick - each and all join in the march of death.

Our many Jewish friends are being taken away by the dozen. These people are being treated by the Gestapo without a shred of decency, being loaded into cattle trucks and sent to Westerbork.

(5) Anne Frank, diary entry (11th April, 1944)
Who has inflicted this upon us? Who has made us Jews different to all other people? Who has allowed us to suffer so terribly up till now? It is God that has made us as we are, but it will be God too, who will raise us up again. If we bear all this suffering and if there are still Jews left, when it is over, then Jews, instead of being doomed, will then be held up as an example. Who knows, it might even be our religion from which the world and all peoples learn good, and for that reason and that reason only do we have to suffer now.

If you go to CNN.com and watch a video about a woman who was pulled over and pleaded with police 21 times to take her to the hospital because she was pregnant and bleeding you will hear some really ignorant remarks made by a female officer. Then come back and tell me if these officers should lose their jobs.

i'm fed up seeing news about terror raids, plots etc. To me it's just a way for the government to justify their stance on iraq etc etc, and it's just propaganda. If you saw 9/11 in plane site and accept their viewpoint then they were no terrorists at all on sept 11. If that was the case then this terror stuff is just cobblers!

Remember Mohammed Al-Durra, the 12 year old boy who died while in the arms of his father who was trying to protect him, and then all of a sudden Israeli forces shot bullets at them killing the boy but wounding the father? I think the whole thing is silly. Wasn't that guy who put those things up, just doing what he was told to do by Turner Broadcasting? That guy is obviously going to jail, there is no way he can out do the city of Boston.

Isn't this letting the terrorists win? Putting our own citizens in jail over something that wasn't even a big deal?

There was a website that my professor (mass media and society class) would use to talk about current inventions, trends, etc. Unfortunately I forgot what the site was and I need a new source of information.
I'm looking for a website that may send daily newsletters about advertisement companies, corporations, inventions, commercials, pop culture, etc. (something that announces new gadgets, television shows, etc.) So I can be on top of the latest media/pop culture news before it actually makes news. Suddenly Iran is getting all this negative media attention, and being blamed for the in-fighting that is occuring in Iraq. Why Bush accepts no responsibility for this is beyond me. Would it not be convenient for Bush to use this as an excuse to invade Iran? The excuse he used for Iraq was "weapons of mass destruction". Will he dare to use the same excuse for Iran?

The latest in the merry mix of fantasy statements is from.....

French President Jacques Chirac who made the comments to two (2) U.S. newspapers and a French magazine BUT then called the reporters back for another interview the next day and said he thought he was speaking off the record.

"What is dangerous about this situation is not the fact of having a nuclear bomb -- having one, maybe a second one a little later, well, that's not very dangerous," Chirac, was quoted as telling the reporters from the International Herald Tribune and New York Times newspapers, and weekly Le Nouvel Observateur.

Chirac's office said the decision to publish the remarks was an attempt to spark "a shameful scandal."

Did anyone every hear of giving an interveiw and NOT believing your remarks would be published or reported?

I assumed there was some sort of actual danger here. Turns out people are drinking it, and doctors suggest that manufacturers change the labeling on hand sanitizers so it does not cause people to think there is ethanol in their products.
