Did that recent headline imply:

1. Too many reporters died in 2006

2. Too FEW reporters were killed in 2006

or

3. Reporters are too stupid to stay out of harm's way even though their parents and teachers told them not to do anything stupid --- especially just to earn a few bucks and brag about yourself?

Reporters know what they are getting into when they go to the dangerous places. I would love to be able to be up front and personal with the news (as a photographer). It is tragic that any reporters, much less 81, were killed in 2006 or at any time. Just because they are reporters doesn't make them any less human.

The battlefield is no place for nosy reporters. They're just looking for a chance to say something bad about the military. The soldiers should take note of what these journalists are saying about them. If it's anything bad, I wouldn't be shocked if that reporter ended up having an 'accident'

That's how you deal with that.

If they died in war zones, that's toughshit. They got no business there. The public's 'right to know' does not fly with me. None of their damn business. You go to a war zone, you might as well be a soldier.

It means prejudice against reporters and the resulting hate crimes are soaring.

I prefer answer number 3. Although it is sad, they do put themselves in harms way.
