Man i do. I had to get my 6 year old neighbor to come over and take the batteries out of mine before the damn thing exploded and killed me. That was a close call.

No one thinks Lite Brites are scary. Everyone is wary of susipicious electronic devices, especially when several are found at the same time around town.

The Boston police and other agencies acted appropriately and professionally.

Your question assumes that the police knew ahead of time what they were dealing with, and were inappropriately cautious. If you walked into your living room and found a man standing there with a knife, you would have a certain type of reaction - fear, flight, etc. If you later found out that it was just a cardboard figure with a plastic knife, is it fair to ask you "what, you're afraid of a cardboard figure?". No, it's not. Putz.
