I need to know what has been in the news recently...something interesting, but not Iraq stuff. Things that Middle Schoolers would be interested in reading. And also, I would like to be able to write about a paragraph or two about it, so it shouldn't be very complicated. Thanks!

There was recently something in Boston (yesterday) that involved Turner Broadcast Company. They put these devices all around the city and people thought they were bombs.

They were just light up figures that looked like it came from the old school game "light brite". Its pretty simplistic. I've included one of the local links below.

How about the scare in Boston due to suspicious objects planted as part of an advertising campaign. It is kind of a fun story with no great harm done, yet it involves serious questions about the method of advertising, police response in Boston and lack of it elsewhere, people's reactions to the planted objects, who is responsible to pay for the costs of the scare, the indecent content of the advertising, the irreverent behavior of the perpetrators, etc.

You might try WATCHING the news. I know it sounds crazy, but try it anyway!
