I know this is old news, but what do most of you think of what Natalie Maines said in concert on the eve of the invasion of Iraq? I never had listened to the Dixie Chicks before because I really wasn't into country music. Then I heard what Natalie did and I decided to try some of their stuff. I am now a die hard Chicks fan forever!! And I applaud Natalie for speaking up. I totally disagreed with Bush's decision for alot of different reasons and I felt like Natalie was speaking out for people like me. I don't want the world to think every American has the mentality of our so called president.

I think it is completely ridiculous for Americans to be constantly on the alert for terror threats. To live your life everyday in fear that someone is going to kill you is no way to live life. But also to live as though any action you make might be construed as a terror threat I think is ridiculous too. When I was moving from my apartment in Los Angeles in November 2001 I bundled up a box of food I didn't want to take with me to my new home. I wrote free food in English and Spanish on the box and put it in the laundry room of the apartment complex. At midnight we had a knock on the door from the bomb squad that was evacuating the entire building. I asked them why and they said there was a suspicious package in the laundry room. I'm like don't tell me you think the free food I'm giving away is bomb. I went down there and everyone was in full bomb gear and I opened it and scared the hell out of them. How can we be expected to live day to day thinking every action might scare sum1

yeah we removed a cruel tyrant and delivered justice, but at the same time, we have created a whirlwind of instability. there's a civil war going on between two religions and our soldiers and marines are constantly being caught in the middle. and ironically, both sides don't like us being there. if anything is certain in history, a liberating army can quickly be seen as opressors rather than liberators when they overstay their welcome. i even gear that there were plans for iraq even before 9-11. is the world really any safer? i mean, the group responsible for 9-11 and many other attacks against america are still out there. bush says "stay the course" but let's face it, he'll be out of office and retired somewhere in texas when our military is still trying to clean up the mess he made. what was the point of starting this war? i understand why we went to afghanistan. but i question whether the iraq war was motivated by the war on terror or by some special interests. what's your view?

This is in regards to the recent bombing in a Baghdad neighborhood that killed over 120 people;

The White House called the bombing an atrocity and said, "Free nations of the world must not stand by while terrorists commit mass murder in an attempt to derail democratic progress in Iraq and throughout the greater Middle East."

How ironic. This from the same white house that allowed US troops to fire White Phosphorus (a weapon banned by the U.N) on civilians and opened the war in Iraq, by dropping the largest conventional weapons (called MOAB's) on civilian targets.
Yes, the irony meters all around the world are damaged beyond repair tonight. And it's just going to get worse...

I really pity Brad Pitt and the other celebrities who are hounded by photographers. I saw one shot of Pitt surrounded by 17 paparazzi photographers. How much do they get per shot, and how much for an exclusive photo? It must be a ridiculous amount.

If they are going to murder and maim for the pleasure of it - shouldn't they have to pay how their victim did?
Their victim didn't get a chance to appeal to a higher court or say they reformed or found God or just made a bad decision.
Killers have more rights than their victims - so what is fair?
Lethal injection is under debate now as being too slow .
Does anyone know how many killers timed how long their victim suffered?
Or does common sense tell you the killer didn't care as long as the result was the death of another human being?

am a migrant from Africa with very good English and being a presenter has been my dreams, i sometimes pretend am a presenter in front of a camera and read news.Am looking for a mentor or media that will help me achieve my dreams by letting me work as a volunteer in the industry as a pathway to my dreams of being a presenter. i just dont know where to start as most places i see are agents or colleges. i cannot afford that as a new migrant but want to achieve my dreams despite the inabilityto pay for media courses. i sometimes picture myself on the screen as most presenters on screen are not from Africa, i would love to break that chain and be a wonderful african presenter. i know i can do it if i get a mentor or get in media who are willing to give me a go.is there any out there?i really need this chance.

If we need 130 billion for war couldn't we keep that for each citizen to start a new life, home, and/or business? Who couldn't live off a cool million or two? 130 billion sounds like plenty for everyone! Doesn't China have 1 billion citizens the most for one country? Even middle school students could see this check has extras for our friends north and south!
