Basically, is it better for an online newspaper (or news source) to have or not to have a discussion forum? Would such a forum increase, or not, the number of visits? Can you cite any studies that looked at this issue?

these are huge homes on large tracts . firemen get the call and should have been there in minutes. this is the richest town in the calif. and they lose 8 homes. not blaming the fire dept. maybe more fires started at one time.

i just read on the web there has been and i quote 'over 200 ecstacy related deaths in the uk since 1996' is it just me or is that really low considering how popular the drug is? im pretty sure alchol related deaths are in the tens of thousands (but im gonna check that up). the article was selling that as a bad point but to me it makes it sound very safe (ive never tried it so im totally unbiased), what a weird country we live in.

It was a poor place to build a city because of its location to begin with. The cost of protecting it from nature is going to be prohibitive. Why not relocate the city elsewhere and use the saved funds to help people?
