I usually buy the Daily Mirror because of its sports coverage and The Times because of its news coverage and its excellent times2 supplement and also i feel that its change to a compact style makes it more accessible. I am not too fond of the Guardian but i love its g2 supplement

When a professional sports team wants to upgrade their stadium, arena, ballpark, or whatever, ... or they want to move to a new city....should taxpayers be asked to foot the bill without compensation other than the 'privileges' of having the team in their city? If they should get some form of compensation, what should it be? ... And why do you feel that way?

The world is in chaos. okay...more chaos then it usually is. And I'm sitting here, watching the news and watching people's lives flash by me and I can't do anything. Sure I help my community with service hours and recycling. But what can I actually do to help contribute an extra pair of working hands to help make this world at least a better place to live? I don't have the time to travel across the world though so missionary and other types of similar activities will not be possible.

I was approached by a male last night at a club wanting $100.00 for a Diamond Ring. I gave him $30.00 for it. My friends say that Diamond Ring is hot because it is real. I don't know what to do, I am leary about taking it to get it appraised because if it is hot I could get in trouble for buying merchandise hot off a robbery or something. Anyhow, I have the Diamond Ring and it is beautiful.

When looking at the current events of the day, I see people bloviating about the coming rapture, the end of times, World War III and all sorts of signs concerning the activities involving the Middle East. But I'm wondering this, who's in the right? Is Israel right for "protecting themselves" by killing hundreds of Lebonese civilians in an attempt to go after Hezballah? Is Hezballah in the right for sending rockets into Israel, killing civilians under the guise of retaliation? Who should step up to put an end to this violence? When we think about other areas, did America fall short, do wrong, or go overboard with this, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, etc? What about the countries that supported the attacks from 9/11, like Saudi Arabia and Syria (which are the countries from which most of the terrorists, including Osama, were from)? I haven't formed my opinion concerning this yet and would like some help.

America means to me to be free. The soliders are fighting for our rights as American's. I am thankful for all they do for us. I pray every night for them to be safe where-ever they are and that they all have a safe return. In America you have so many rights. Some people take them for granted. You see all different kinds of people protesting the WAR and all kinds of people supporting the WAR. I support our president. If we can not support him than what do we have left.

Is The Independent Media: A Myth?
The role played by the corporate structure of the Mass Media in the “manufacture of consent”, as a means of population control, is reflected in its faithful propagation of the established opinion that Western policy is fundamentally benevolent in intention, is an issue of paramount importance. What role has the media played in clarifying the real principles and motives of Western policy to the public, and what does this entail for the nature of Western democracy and the role of the population in the formulation of policy? Is the business of the journalist of today to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, fall at the feet of Mammon and sell themselves for their daily bread?. Especially when it comes to the counter-democratic role of the United States of America in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Southern California. I remember temps of 120 to 130 easy! That's dry heat of course without humidity. I remember training in the Philippines where it was like 80 to mid 80's but the humidity was like 100%! I remember seeing this church sign that read, "If you think the Mojave is hot, Hell is hotter!" I had to laugh at that one. :)
