The media has changed due to the fact that people would believe anything. The media knows what the masses would likely watch, read, and listen to. Take shows, reality TV, etc, have a devastating effect on people, especially young people. The level of intelligence in the U.S. have gone below the other nations. The main function the media is in business is $$$$$$ bottom line. They would sell the young viewers down the river for money. Sad really.

All media is biased. They all have parent companies they have to answer to. For instance, could ABC accurately report something bad about its parent company, Disney? They all have parent companies with agendas. Even the print media has its bias. The best thing to do is read different newspaper sources AND watch the news from different stations. CNN is liberal, Fox is conservative. Watch both & use your common sense to figure out the true story without the spin. It's all we can do as responsible Americans. Look into some people like Anderson Cooper and Michael Yon. Anderson doesn't like broadcasting his personal views at all unless its for a cause like aid in Africa or Katrina. Michael Yon is an independent blogger who didn't like what the media was giving him on Iraq, so he went & started reporting himself. His blog is pretty well known now.

No. You cannot "trust" the media. Yes. The media is biased. I don't know if the info we are given about the Middle East is "wrong", but it's insufficient and incomplete.

The media is biased towards being cared about. They need to be watch, read, purchased. The media consists of people, each of them with own biases.

But the real kick - there is no truth. Perception is a human quality and bias is an inescapable reality.

But the media isn't out to get us or anything.

Nowadays most mainstream media is biased. The bias use to be totally liberal but with the rise of fox news you can now get both sides' views. "Believe only 50% of what you see and none of what you hear" I believe is the old quote. Want to have an opinion, research the subject yourself and remember the authors reasons for writing what they do.

Not only is it biased but we get only the selections of news that they want us to hear. Best bet is to get news from all sources (both left and right slants) and also make sure to try and get news from sources outside of the U.S.

I also really recommend checking out DemocracyNow. It's one of the best places to get news from especially about what's going on in the Middle East

Of course they are. The American media is run by jews and that's a fact. So the American media sides with Israel. It is very unfair and only spreads ignorance.
