Is The Independent Media: A Myth?
The role played by the corporate structure of the Mass Media in the “manufacture of consent”, as a means of population control, is reflected in its faithful propagation of the established opinion that Western policy is fundamentally benevolent in intention, is an issue of paramount importance. What role has the media played in clarifying the real principles and motives of Western policy to the public, and what does this entail for the nature of Western democracy and the role of the population in the formulation of policy? Is the business of the journalist of today to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, fall at the feet of Mammon and sell themselves for their daily bread?. Especially when it comes to the counter-democratic role of the United States of America in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

The majority of the American Media is owned by the entertainment industry, and has the same Anti-American/ Anti-Moral/ Anti-Democracy agenda as their Hollywood masters. This can be traced back to FDR's use of Hollywood's propaganda machine in the 30's and 40's. Roosevelt was, for the most part, a Socialist. While he did do an excellent job with WWII, he used the situation to perpetuate his hidden agenda. After he died, Hollywood continued. I guess no one told them when to stop. Let's not forget that, in the 30's and 40's, many in Hollywood supported the Nazis. In the 50's and 60's (and still now) Hollywood was (and is) the greatest and loudest mouthpiece for the Communist and Socialist agenda.

Much of the "American" Entertainment industry is now owned and controlled but other countries, France especially. To me, this explains a lot. Always follow the money.

The American media (for the most part, I don't include institutions like Faux News in this statement as they intentionally and blatantly lie) doesn't so much lie as it doesn't filter the lies of others.

When it is reporting on something, the media generally repeats verbatim what it was told and accepts the answers it is given, even when they know it is a lie. This is a function of laziness and catering to the public that doesn't want to think.

The American public, unfortunately, is the driving force behind this. Americans, again for the most part, don't want to be forced to think, especially not at dinner time which is when most get their news. They want to be told what to think, not be offered things to think about.

Because they can.

And so they can serve their masters.

Perception is our new reality. A concoction of perceptions equal to the bending of the truth so we can blindly believe the greater truth.

To lie is a thing of the past. To tell a convenient truth precipitate the notion that a lie can be accepted and embraced.

I wish we could all learn from past's lies to see the dawn of new enlightenment--truth without doubt...

Truth without prejudice...

Truth for truth's sake.

All the media does it. They lie to make money and spread scandal, bad news sells but good news doesnt. Often they write stories on rumour or half truths but either way it will bring them money, and then further money when they correct themselves.

All news media have parent companies with agendas. Want to know what spin each news source has? Look up its parent company & what it has to gain by what that source reports.

they lie just for any other reason. to keep people safe, to make money, to make things seem different than they really are. the truth will only be exposed in our darkest hour.
