The world is in chaos. okay...more chaos then it usually is. And I'm sitting here, watching the news and watching people's lives flash by me and I can't do anything. Sure I help my community with service hours and recycling. But what can I actually do to help contribute an extra pair of working hands to help make this world at least a better place to live? I don't have the time to travel across the world though so missionary and other types of similar activities will not be possible.

Just be a responsible member of society, don't be prejudiced, stay open minded and work hard. You'll make a difference if you try.

Age does not matter, anyone can really make a difference. Go through your bank account and through your closet to see how much extra cash or old clothes you can donate to countries suffering. Every penny counts. Many people are losing their families, you can consider asking your mom to sponsor a child who is half way around the world. Every little act of kindness can make a difference, don't ever think that since you are 16, there is not much you can do. Anyone at any age can help. Bless you for worrying.

Just be a good person and help your neighbours/family and strangers when you have the opportunity - Smile at everyone too! Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do about the other side of the world... we just have to learn by other peoples mistakes!

What about the red cross? I think they take 16 year olds. You can do disaster relief if it is ever needed in your community. You can take disaster training, etc. Call your local red cross to make sure though that they accept 16 year olds. Good luck and I applaud you for wanting to make a difference!

read- find out what causes these problems, and do whatever you have the ability to do in order to avoid supporting or facilitating the corporations, cultural trends, and thought patterns that cause the problems. you'll have to find all of this out yourself, but here's a hint- don't watch cable news, and never give money to wal-mart
