I would like to put some shrubs in this fall, I live in Illinois. But when do I buy and plant? In the spring, I see shrubs at all the home stores but I dont recall seeing them in the fall. Have I overlooked or is it hard to find shrubs in the fall, do I need to wait until spring?

We planted "yellow cucumbers" in our garden this year, and they are just now starting to come in. We have noticed that on the first fruits that are starting to set, that the skin is very bumpy almost even priclkly (more so than any cucumber that we have ever grow before). I was hoping that someone could tell me if this is normal or not. One other piece of information that may help, the row of of Yellow cucumbers, is directly next to a row of Armenian cucumbers. Thank you in advance for your time.

They are fruit trees about 8'-10' tall. They were purchased last year in about 5 gallon tubs and these people put them in bigger tubs.

Here's what I've got and done so far...

A lobelia Hybrid "Luguna compact with blue eye" and a "sunbeam kordana rose" both planted in 8 in terra cotta pots(with drain), on the ground in semi-shade.

A Calibrachoa hybrid "superbells tickled pink" planted in a hanging tin 6 in planter(with drain) hung in direct sun

A mini-spider plant and tiny-fern both in 3 in ceramic pots (no drain) in shade

I planted all 5 plants in Miracle Grow potting soil.

So here's my questions...
1. would the spider or fern do better indoors? and do they need draining or larger pots?

2. How often should i water each of them? Do any of them need plant food?

3. It's already fall so will they still be alive this winter? (I'm in SoCal)

4. If they die for the winter (1st 3 say annuals) When will they come back, do i have to do anything to them to make them come back?

5. Please! anything else I should know, I'm really new to this and don't understand alot of garden-lingo yet,

Thanks!

Different flowery beds specially petunia beds are arranged in a remarkable style. suggest and mention different varieties according to colors, size, shape and sunlight.

I saw a mouse like thing too, I did not know that mice or what ever it was could scale a wall . it ran btwn a crack eeeew! maybe it was after someting else in my garden.
