Is there a site to tell you when to plant fruits and vegtables in Florida. For example: watermellon plant may 13-25 etc.

I live in Florida and have the cruddiest, sandiest soil ever. I want to grow veggies this spring, but how do I improve the quality of the soil enough to sustain vegetables? Also, what do you suggest to grow? (This would be our first garden, obviously)

Chamomile is a herb, and a possible grass substitute. I've been told I have pH-neutral soil. I've recently cleared 20 square metres of ground and dug and re-dug the soil, in preparation for a lawn. With a lack of weeds growing, I figured the soil was acidic and added some lime. One possibility for me is a chamomile lawn. That was without knowledge of what chamomile needs - an acidic lawn! Should I bother trying to make the lawn more acidic? Is it worth it for this chamomile lawn?

I have a question from a reader about where to plant her new "Peace" Rose. She lives in Florida like I do. But I have no luck with Roses. Please see her question on my website or answer here. I also need some more stories for the summer stories page coming soon.

I have a cherry tomato plant that has already grown about 2 feet over it's cage. The weight of the limbs are causing it to droop heavily over the top of the cage . . . and it doesn't even have the weight of the fruit yet !!! What should I do ???

I know little about flowers, but so far I love morning glories, because of its blue leafs with the yellow color in the center. Also because it reminds me of this girl who's presence gives me a fever. Her blue dress and sweater reminds me of morning glories. She has soft hair, soft skin, soft eyes, and maybe a soft soul. What is your favorite flower? and why?

I have 4 basil plants in pots that are growing nicely, but I want to start using some of the leaves. Do I have to wait until the plants grow taller or just start plucking leaves now?

I recently bought a house with three apple trees and although I love the shade from these trees, the fallen apples and low-hanging branches (from the weight of the apples) are driving me crazy. I just want the apples to go away, at least on one or two trees.

Help! I live in Palm Springs, CA (Zone 9) and have a garden bed (about 10' x 4') next to a pool. My dog goes in the pool and comes out near the bed, saturating the bed. I need some plant(s) that would look good together... have color... and would tolerate sun (morning to 4pm... then shade)... and not grow so tall as to obstruct the view of the pool. I was thinking about Golden Moneywort along with a couple large bolders (to break up the monotony of the Golden Moneywort). But I think just this one plant, even with the couple rocks, might look boring. Can anyone suggest what to do with this bed? I'd rather not have to re-plant every season, if possible. I'm stumped! Thanks so much!
