I have a watermelon plant in my garden, and every vine has a few watermelons growing on it. But my watermelons keep dying and i dont know whats wrong. I first noticed this when 3 of my watermelon plants became black and shrivled up, then they completly fell off their vines. Now i saw another one and this is what it looked like, right below the flower is were the watermelon grows and the flower eventualy dies and the watermelon keeps going then these black lines start showing up on the watermelon and their all coming from were the flower was, so i picked off the watermelon knowing that it would end up like the others, i opened the watermelon i picked off and inside it was all black. I dont know whats happening, i water my plants really well every night and i change the soil every 3 months. I live in an area were its gets well over 105 everyday so is it the heat thats getting to my watermelon plant or what is it. please help.

How do I enrich our soil? It's a light brownish grey color, and it seems very dry and unhealthy. What can we put in our soil that will make it rich again? Thanks.

I have 3 red currant bushes that always produce a lot of delicious berries that last all summer. It seems that the bush maybe got more leafy, or somethings not right, because half of the berries look big and ripe and ready to eat, while I can find many berries thay are still green. Stranger yet, I sometimes find a bright red berry on the same vine as several green ones. It seems like the few branches that stick up way up into the sky ripen first, but still, there are green ones. Why is this happening?

I'm laying down brick pavers and I've already got them down and the sand in between them, but the sand keeps blowing out. I've also tamped it down with a plate compactor. Wikipedia says I should use a sealer, but doesn't list any examples. I just need to know the names of some sealers I could use.

Is there a good way to get rid of them without resorting to chemicals? Is there a way to repel them?

Michelia alba campana. We finished our backyard excavation (careful to leave 5 ft around the tree trunk) one week ago. In that time, the tree has lost nearly all of its leaves. The tree is about 20+ feet high. The fallen leaves are a mix of brown, yellow and yellow with brown spots. We haven't seen it this bald in the 1 year we've had the house. We did notice that about 3 roots with a diameter of 2-3 inches were cut off in the excavation process. Not sure if this was the reason as I've read that root disturbance is tough on this tree. Or could it be that there was extra dirt (about 1-1.5 feet) piled around the trunk?

Is there anything we can do? We love the tree and were trying to excavate and plan landscaping around it...any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The bed is approx 3m wide and 5m long and triangular. I have a Rhododendron in the corner and an Escolonia in the short side and down the long side are a Euphorbia and a Hydrangea! I am now looking for shrubs to fill it with which will be smaller than these when fully grown so that I can taper the heights of the plants down to the Lavandula and some annuals at the front edges! Do you have any suggestions please?

I have a small strawberry patch. Lately they have started to spread - they sprout these long thin tendrils that root at the end. I've been letting them grow in one direction, but I don't want strawberries accross my entire garden.
Is it safe to pluck them off or cut them? If yes, when shoud I do so? Anything else I should know?
Thanks!

I've lived in the mountains for 29 years. I've had a beautiful view from my livingroom window of the ocean and La Jolla. It was a WOW factor when you entered the home. My neighbor has let a fast growing sucker plant grow wild and has compleatly blocked my view. I'm getting ready to sell and my agent say's this will lower the value somewhat. I had talked to her about it when it was smaller and she said she would have her gardner trim it. Never happened. She is rarely home so I left her a note (nice) with a picture so she would see how it blocked my view. No response. One day when she came home from work I walked down to her house and knocked on the door but she didn't answer.Few months go by and I leave another note with an updated picture. Still no response. The plant just keeps growing taller (must be 15") and spreading...ugh. This isn't a plant that she planted, it grows wild. It stinks and ants love it! When it starts to grow in my yard I cut it out. What can I do? Is there a law?
