I need to buy a jigsaw for a home improvement project. I'd like it to be versatile so I could use it for future unknown projects. What should I look for?

I maintain the front of both houses, but I'm not good at it...basically I remove all the weeds, trim the bushes, and remove any trash. The problem that we're having with the houses is that the "dirtpatches" are on an incline and over many years the dirt continues to fall onto the sidewalk whenever it rains...especially if it rains hard and then I have to go clean that up too. I was planning on laying sod to make both sides look a lot better, but I need a DIY project that is relativly simple so I can build a small wall or barrier or whatever it's called to keep the dirt where it belongs. What is there is not working well at all. I don't mind working hard...I would just like it to look relatively nice and inexpensive would be just as good. When you see the pic of my house(it's the one with the ridiculously big bush...check out the house on the right...I don't want it to come out looking as horrible as their makeshift patio. Thanks so much.

I was watching a friend of mine, who was doing hard wood installation for the first time, he used Hydrolic nailer with a noisy compressor, for each plank he was nailing 3 special nails into the groove of the plank, BUT when trying to insert the next raw, we noticed small gaps, even if you hit them with the hammer the gap want go away, the cause was that the nails inside the groove in first row where not fully flushed with the surface, by using a big nail and hammer we manually pushed those nails inside the groove, after that the gap disapeared and with little effort the second plank was fitting perfectly.
So where did we do the mistake, why the nailer didnt insert the nail deep enough??
Thanks for answers.

Hi, I am redoing my room to be a harry potter theme and I am tring to switch my lighting. I was hoping to go for a floating candle type thing and hanging them from the ceiling with wire and they are supposed to be non flamable by battery power. The thing is I dont know how to turn them on/off without going to each one and turning it off/on manually. If anyone knows how to hook them up to the light switch that would be great. Thanks. Bye.

It's the crazy-paving flagstones which surrounds my garden.

I blasted the crazy paving with a pressure washer a few weeks ago (the area was dirty and now it's much really clean).....

.....but the downside being it's removed moss around some of the paving joints which seems to have eaten in to the mortar joints to leave gaps... and now grass has sprung up through those gaps.

I'm not exactly sure what mortar is, how to use it, or where to get it from?

Or is there a better alternative that I could try to fill the gaps with please?

Theres only a few gaps so I don't need a huge bag of mortar-type stuff anyway.
