This home sits on a foundation with a 3' gap between the floor joists and ground. Should i foam the cinder blocks (foundation) and insulate the floor joists or is there another suggestion!!! I also need to insulate some plastic plumbing while im under there, if i just wrap it in the pipe insulation and then do the 2 steps above, is that too much and a waste of time or should i do both anyway? Please help me!!!! or it is going to be a long winter!!!!

The room is approx 12' x 10'. It has 4 cement walls and floor. It has no doors just a window sized hole on the inside near the roof, one square hole from the outside lower than the inside hole and one small round hole from the outside lower than both. It is directly below a bathroom. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I bought it at walmart over a year ago. Was a very cute little plant. I repotted it and put it in filtered sunlight and it has gotten 4 times bigger. Last night, i noticed this off little offshoot (at first I thought some strange bug had attached itself to the plant) had grown out of the stem. But now I'm curious what it is and if this offshoot is going to be some type of flower.

Here is a link to two pictures of the plant, the first one gives an example of the sprout and to show how long it is, that is my husbands hand for contrast.

I am getting married in May in Perth and am desperate to have cymbidium orchids in both my own and my bridesmaids bouquets. Will this be possible as I believe they are out of season naturally

In MA. What type of wiring should I use, and do I need any type of protection for the wire.

I spent a lot of money cleaning the plants out and installing showers and benches. Very nice wood ones by the way. Now my women guests complain about a lack of privacy. Privacy? With those little string thong bikinis they wear, what do they need privacy for?

I thought they would appreciate the showers and facilities. Not to mention the fact that they can still work on their tan while dressing, or undressing. But no. What is with women?

I have a duffel bag, not completely sure what fabric it's made of but, on my way home from college my friend's laundry detergent spilled all over it and i dont know how to clean it. The detergent soaked through the fabric and out of fear of it being attacked by insects once i take it back to my dorm room because of its smell i really want to clean it but i'm not sure how. And its not a small machine washable duffle bag. its a big rolling one...

They are turning off the water in my apt bldg today, for most of the day for maintenance...what do you do w/o water if you can't even flush the toilet...they said it would be off between 9 and 4. Great. I just took my shower (7:15 a.m.) and have some water in store in case I need some...question is, is if I put some water in the toilet when flushing it when the water's off, would that allow me to flush it again? Last time they did this I had 1 flush of my toilet left. Anyone with other ideas would be appreciated!

The light itself is colour coded Blue, Brown & Green.

I then have 3 cables coming out of the ceiling ( even though i only have 2 wall switches).

2 of these cables are colour coded Black, Red & Green.
The remaining cable is coded Blue, Red and Green.

I put reds together and connected them to the Brown wire on the light fitting.

Then put the green wires together and connected them to the green wire on the light fitting.

I then connected the 2 black wires to the blue wire and connected these to the blue wire on the light fitting.

Turned the light on and it blew the light bulb the trip switched.

What wires did i get wrong?

Cheers

I am going to insulate the loft (floor-not between rafters) and subsequently board up the loft to use it as storage (not loft conversion). I am getting confused by all the choice of materials? Glass fibre? Thermasafe(polyester)? Airtec/Airflex/Alububble? How do they compare for thermal insulation value relative to their thickness? What's easier to work with? What more cost-effective (I need to insulate a loft space of approx 90m2). How do I board up the loft space afterwards? Any advice on what boards to use? Please help!
