I accidentally dropped a ballpoint pen in my toilet and now it's clogging up. I tried calling a plumber to see how much it would cost to get it fixed and was told $100+ if it went well and like $300 if it didn't. This seemed a bit outrageous to me for such a simply problem, so I was wondering if there was a way I could do it myself. A plunger doesn't seem to be getting the job done. Any ideas?

I have red clay soil & it has lots of rocks in it. We tilled it and added sand & cow manure/compost but the ground is still like concrete. We also covered it with the black gardening paper before putting the plants in. I'm just worried the plants are going to die. Any suggestions...previous experience??

Do you trust your cleaning lady or cleaning service to leave them alone in your house while they're cleaning? Are they bonded or insured?

The bath is made of plastic (not steel) and the heat from the light must have melted it. Normally there is water in the tub which stops this happening but as I said it was left on accidently in an empty tub.

I spent most of my childhood raised by a single father, who started out not very domesticated. There was a time that one of my chores growing up was laundry, and while he was teaching me, he would wash the jeans and towels together. I spent years of my adolescence thinking it was perfectly okay. During my high school years he remarried and I was relieved my laundry duties. Don't worry, there were still plenty to take it's place. But when I moved out on my own, and had to start doing my own laundry again, I find myself wanting to wash my jeans and towels together. Nothing devastating has ever happened. The washing machine never exploded. Yet if someone else is in my presence while I am washing clothes, they are always there to remind that you can never mix the two in the same load.

Why is this such a bad idea? I am confused. I now try hard to keep them seperate, but just what is it that happens when you wash the two of them together that is so bad? Lint?

I have a candle warmer in my bathroom with a CLEAN LINEN candle on it. As you might now the candle is white & resembles water when completely warmed. My curious 4 year old decided to pour the "water" down my sink drain to "help Mommy". Now I have a trail of wax from the warmer to the sink & around the sides of the sink.

Anybody know how to remove this? I used a small Pampered Chef spatula to begin with but was scared I would scratch it. But @ this point scratching is not an issue ... I just want to get it off.

Please help!

We recently got mulch in our backyard. I, of course am in charge of raking leaves. The entire back section of our yard is a play area, we have a hammock, slide, swings and a playhouse (3 younger siblings) and a few trees. When I rake, will all the mulch come up with the leaves? any suggestions on what sort of rake to use? Thanks.
