I have beautiful hardwood floors...but I need a little help with them.
First of all, they've been scratched in the last two years we've lived here (and there were some scratches in them to begin with). I'd just like to make them look better. Are there any cleaning products (or ANYTHING!) that would minimize the appearance of scratches?
Also, there seem to be some "gaps" in between the pieces...not all of them, but some. It really bugs me. Is there anything I can do about this?
The floors are sort of in a herringbone pattern. I'm not sure what kind of wood it is. It's sort of golden brown. It might be oak.

And no, I couldn't replace the floors even if I wanted to. I'm in military housing.

The house is in Westchester County, NY. When should I apply fertilizer and should I apply a weed and feed or just straight fertilizer at this point?

Any recommendations for brand/type of fertilizer?

The lawn is in a mostly sunny location (ie. not much shade during the day).

Thanks!

The couch has wooden legs and every time someone sits down it slides a little. There isn't room against the wall to put the couch due to large windows and air conditioning vents. My sister swears there are furniture stoppers to put under the legs but I have looked everywhere on line and can't find anything like what I am looking for. All I can find is floor protectors. Thanks in advance for your answers!

We've just had our driveway resurfaced and the builder has charged us extra to put back the edge around the driveway (a small wooden border about 1 ft high) after breaking the original. He also charged to fix the tarmac on the pavement damaged by his digger whilst getting rid of the original surface.

Just need to know if he is able to charge extra, or am I entitled to ask him to repair the damages he did for free (including the extra materials required to fix them).

I live in South East Tennessee and we saw our first hummer on April 2nd and now its really cold again in the mornings. Could this cold snap kill an over eager north wandering hummer? I hope not.

I am moving house on Saturday, and have to move my bed as part of this.
The bed itself comes into two segments and seems easily transportable (in two journeys), but the mattress is king sized, and huge?
