I want to start my seeds inside.


How do I germinate them and stuff?

Well, if you've never done it before, i'd reccomend just buying live plants. They're easier. If you're deadset on growing them, buy a small seed starter kit. They're small peat pots with a plastic cover so that it works like a greenhouse. Buy your seeds, plant them in the starter kit, and wait 6-8 weeks. The cover will keep the seeds moist, but you will have to water every once in a while. Don't let water collect in the bottom- the peat pots will rot. Good luck!

Each seed is different. The packages will have directions, or you can inquire at a local nursery for the specifics. Most seeds will germinate in a folded, moist paper towel. Things like onions start as bulbs, sold in "starter packs". Tomatoes seem to work best if purchased as small plants. Many squashes will simply grow from seeds. Treat the germinated seeds like babies, because that is, after all, what they are.
