my mum has a pond in her garden, built in recently, and after a week or so this green stuff appeared. its looks nasty. how do i get rid of the crap?

My husband & I jusr ordered this generator. We live in South Floirda & are tired of no power whenever a hurricane hits. It was a bit costly. Any reviews out there ? Did we get a good deal ? We paid $547. We also have never used a generator in our lives. Any safety tips ? We were thinking of putting it in the garage (with the garage door open) if we lose power, is that smart ? We really are looking for review both positive & negative & safety tips. Is it really noisy ? Thanks !!!

I can do most of the jobs just pulling on it or removing with a swiss knife but there's still a thin layer of the transparent sealing on the side of the windows. I would scrub with a metal brush but I'm afraid of removing the paint.

Any adice of how to remove this?

The rain butts are open at the top for easy access when watering. They get colonised by insects, notably gnats, which become a nuisance around the garden. Lids and covers have not been very successful. Is there a suitable organic sterilising agent which will contol the insects without harming the plants in the garden? The water is primarily used on fruit and vegetables.
