there are three sizes of bed designed to be slept in by one person.
Single is more narrow than twin, and a three quarter size bed is wider than a twin bed.
All of these are the same length. A child size bed also sometimes referred to as a cot is shorter than single bed but about as wide...many are designed to hold crib mattresses.
Interesting to note, they say that two adults in a double bed have each got as many square feet to sleep on as are in a crib mattress.

By the time I get home from work, I've only got 1.5-2 hours before I have to BE in bed, so usually I'm still chewing on the last of my dinner when I'm heading to the bathroom to wash up for bed--I know, it's really not good but what can you do. On days I don't work, I generally start dinner at around 6pm but don't finish for h ours, but then it's usually around 3 hours between when I finished eating and bed. I don't really snack often, if I do it's just a yogurt. There are certain foods I cannot eat after about 2pm (any processed tomato products, citris, anything acidic) or I suffer with reflux all nigiht long no matter what I do. Ever since I can remember, I always had to eat something before bed--a bowl of cereal with I was a younger, something or I'd wake up in the middle of the night from hunger and not be able to go back to sleep (but wasn't allowed to eat at that time).

A single bed is only big enough for 1 person a twin is suppose to fit two people but there really is not enough room to sleep two with out being all over each other.

A twin bed is somewhat narrower than a single bed. A single bed is 39 inches, I think.

A single bed is evidently for one person.
(sizes can vary: 1'80 mts. X .90 cms., 1'80 X .80 cms., 1'80 X 70 cms. and 2'00 mts. X 90 cms. There are also custom sized for extra tall persons)
Twin beds are the same size bed but there are usually two of them together, placed side by side and sometimes as "bunk beds"
