Praying Mantis
The praying mantis is the oldest symbol of God: the African Bushman’s manifestation of God come to Earth, “the voice of the infinite in the small,”* a divine messenger. When one is seen, diviners try to determine the current message. In this culture they are also associated with restoring life into the dead. “Mantis” is the Greek word for “prophet” or “seer,” a being with spiritual or mystical powers.

Meet the eye of a mantis and feel the presence of God. Interspecies communicator Sharon Callahan says, “the I of me, and the I of the creature became one and we rested on the breath of God.” She notes that a praying mantis appears sometimes in person, other times in a dream or even in an object of art, but always with the “shiny conscious eye ~ God looking at me through the eye of the Mantis.”

The praying mantis shows the way. In the Arabic and Turkish cultures a mantis points pilgrims to Mecca, the holiest site in the Islamic world. In Africa it helps find lost sheep and goats. In France, it's believed that if you are lost the mantis points the way home.

"Follow Mantis" means putting that core aspect of yourself, your foundation of Spirit, at the helm and let it direct your intellect and ultimately your life. m

My brother visit with me today and we sat and talked about loosing our brother and father and our family dog on the same day in 3 consecutive months March,April and May. This conversation is always very emotional for us I usually end up crying because I miss them so much.
As I opened my front door for my brother to leave he said look up over your head there was a big praying mantis lying on the top of my door frame like he was eves dropping on our conversation it was at least 6 inches long I was scared to go back inside but my brother said not to be afraid that it is a good sign, the praying mantis is praying for us so I ran back into my house and closed the door and waived at my brother from the window but I felt happy.

The rosary beads are yet another custom or tradition of the Catholic Church that is not a teaching of the bible. God wants us to pray. To talk to him constantly. He loves us and wants us to put him in first position. It is so important that we talk to him in a normal, conversational way that Jesus instructed us how to pray. Matthew 6:7 (KJV) says "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do; for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. This is quoted from the KJV, their own bible. Why would the Catholic Church teach their followers to pray as a HEATHEN does? Maybe they make money selling the rosary beads, I really don't know.

Strange ... I see them frequently as I live in Japan ... usually when I see them it means I need to mist them with water or go and catch some food for them ~ we keep 4 of them as pets..!

When I saw a couple of them in long grass yesterday, it meant that I was about to get my hand mozzied while I was catching them to have a good look at them...!
