Teak wood is the best for household purposes.

ceder is ur best bet but i like to use what is naturally grown in the area...mother nature knows what works! so if ceder is all around ya use it, if fur is abundant then go with that....

Cedar doesn't harbor insects. Fir is plentiful. Redwood is pretty and expensive.
