I know it sounds really crazy, but as a home interior representative, I learned that putting your artificial greenery and flowers in a garbage bag with a couple of packages of regular table salt and giving a few shakes works wonders. It pulls the dust off, keeps you from having to go through the mess of cleaning with water, and shines your pant up! I think the best thing to do is to put the flowers into the bag first, then pour the salt over the flowers. Also, use a good quality garbage bag.

the large plants, that are not set in a fancy pot on a full time basis, i just stick in the shower, spray with a bottle of water with a tablespoon of dish washing liquid in it, and then turn on the shower to rinse, all that dust and junk goes down the drain. just let them stand in the shower till they have dripped dry. the large fig tree i have is set in a pot with plaster, so i take it out on the carport, and spray with a mist setting with the garden hose. that way the pot doesnt get too wet, then i dry the pot with an old towel and leave it outside till the leaves are dry too.smaller stems of flowers that you can use in an arrangement, just fill the kitchen sink with warm soapy water, dowse several times, then rinse off with the kitchen spray head if you have one . lay on the counter on some dishtowels or papertowels and when they are dry they are ready to arrange.

Get a hairdryer and blow it off on the cool setting. hihg speed.

I would suggest doing it outside since all the dust will fly everywhere.

If you don't have a haridryer, you can use the export end of the shop vac, but I should think that if you don't have a hairdryer you also don't have a shop vac.
