# 1 treat your cat and get them out of the house. #2 time to treat the house. Raid and Combat both make a flea killing powder you can treat your carpets with and a spray to treat your furniture with. then bomb the house. If you don't get rid of the fleas in your home they will just miltiply. if your cat is indoor/ outdoor, they carry products that help keep of fleas but you must reapply every other month, some cats have reactions to them though, mine looses his hair in that spot. Or ask your vet about the pill they can take it helps from the inside out. Or just give your cat garlic and that keeps the fleas off them. You can buy powders and sprays from hardware stores like home depot or lowes

It takes 24 hours to kill all the fleas and flea eggs currently on the animal. What I think you have here is a need to treat your house. Frontline Plus kills the fleas and eggs on the animal, but not the ones in the house - if you haven't treated your house, you could still see fleas. The dead ones you're seeing are the ones on the animal, the live ones are the ones that have hopped on from the house - they will die too, but they may be replaced by new ones from the house if you don't treat! Also, you didn't bath your cat before applying the Frontline did you? Because if you did, the Frontline will not have been able to spread through the skin properly, and will not work as well. You cannot apply Frontline within 48 hours before or after bathing the animal. Chalie

chrysanthemum flowers!!!!! The flowers are a natural flea repellent. Scatter the flowers around the house, under the couch cushions, and under furniture, even vacuum some up, and leave it in the vacuum. then rub the flowers between both hands and then rub your hands into the cats fur, do this every week. But make sure you do the house also with the flowers. You need to kill the fleas in the house to keep them off the cat. It takes more work then a flea medication, but it's natural, and won't harm your pet or anyone else in the house.

after you treat the cat with flea shampoo , to kill fleas in the house fill a low bowl with warm water add a few drops of dish soap put it on the ground with a lamp over the bowl. Fleas will jump to the light and fall into the water. If you count many the next day you will know you need to bomb.

I wouldn't attempt to kill fleas myself. Fleas multiply extremely fast and eggs bury themselves in the skin which is impossible for you to remove. You'd have to skin your cat!!!!

The most effective way is to use "advantage" that you get from your vet. It's very safe and extremely effective.

Fleas are torture to an animal and torture to many humans if they're allergic. Fleas carry diseases, some deadly. They cause more problems than people realize in their pets and often lead to early deaths with complications such as respitory, heart failure, etc.

Unfortunately, because an animal who's life has been subjected to fleas is almost always misdiagnosed but it is a huge problem to the animal's overall health. Shampoos and collars do nothing.

go to the vet, buy revoloution or advantage flea drops, read the instructions carefully, it will start killing the fleas right away, you just put one little tube full on the back of the neck where the shoulders join at the spine, its about 5 dollars a tube in indiana, and the package usually is for 6 months at a time, so it sets you back a chunk but it really works so its worth it, ive tried similar looking stuff from walmart and so on, none of it works but these two as far as i have found.

Give them a bath in Avon Skin So Soft bath oil, use garlic in food, or use the dawn dish remedy below.

Morton Salt- Sprinkle salt on carpets, let sit for at least three hours or longer, and vacuum thoroughly. This worked great for me.

Dawn Dish-washing Liquid- to kill fleas in carpeting pour 1 table spoon of Dawn into 16 oz spray bottle, fill rest of bottle with water and spray the carpets, upholstery and floors. the soap dries up the insects killing them almost instantly. after 15 min. wipe floors with damp cloth ( or mop) and vacuum the carpets.

Lysol- Spray the carpet and upholstery with Lysol disinfectant spray. the antiseptic kills fleas. repeat the following day to kill any newly hatched eggs.

All these methods work, I have used them all at different times. I personally like the salt method best. I looked for remedies that would not harm children when my daughter was very young, and I continue to use them today. I hope this helps you.

Advantage works great. To get them out of your house you'll need to treat the animal then get a powder to kill all the ones in the carpets. It will take a while- the eggs ALL have to hatch before the powder will kill them. You have to keep applying it every day and vacuuming it up every other day. Don't forget to empty your vacuum and throw out of the house.
