call the building and zoning department on Monday of your local city hall. I work for a municipality, and that's the department that has the building codes.

If your city has a website, you can go online to find them.

good luck.

Plumbing codes are different in each jurisdiction. If you live in a U.S. city, go to the county building and permit department. They will have all the code books related to your area. They won't let you take them, but you can read them there and make copies. I think you'll be surprised at how large some code volumes can be. My county's building codes are compiled in 54 volumes. Each volume is about the size of a large phone book. Contractors who can afford to buy them pay thousands of dollars. Good luck
